Tempera 1.3(.1) becomes multilingual

Tempera decided to spend her entire vacation going to summer school. The most important feature she brought back is support for WPML and Polylang multilingualism. You will now find all of Tempera’s custom text fields in Polylang’s translations section.

The second important change is the inclusion of the WooCommerce compatibility child theme code and styling. This should improve handling WooCommerce content, making the use of the separate child theme unnecessary. For the rest of the changes see the changelog…

Mantra 2.4 celebrates 4 years of existence

It’s a time for joy and celebration, not just because a new Mantra update is here to correct and improve some long outstanding issues but also because this month, 4 years ago, our little Mantra opened its digital eyes and met with the Wordpress repository for the very first time. And boy what I ride it has been since…

Mantra is now 4 years old and although her little sisters are starting to surpass her, she’s still older, wiser and still has a few issues up her sleeves.

One of the most important changes in the latest update is the removal of shortcodes. The keep the [mantra] or [cryout] shortcodes working on your site, we’ve moved this functionality to a separate plugin…

Parabola 1.4.3 packs a few

After a long, deserved and relaxing winter break Parabola returns into the world only to find a changed Wordpress. Things are different now, rules somehow feel heavier… There’s still some time left, but she can’t help but let her thoughts roam wild… What will happen next? Will she be able to adapt?

In the meantime, this is one of the larger updates (not in file size but in the number of items fixed, changed, added or improved), so remember to check the changelog for all the info.

Tempera 1.2.8 drops by

Tempera is not afraid; Tempera does not bow to pressure. Despite the outstanding Customizer-imposed options execution order, Tempera does a quick pass-by and drops in its monthly pack of fixes and improvements.

Be sure to check the changelog for the full list.

Where is WordPress heading? To have or not have theme options…

Wordpress’ Theme Review Team seems to always be involved in a lot of decision making. That’s good, decisions have to be made and a direction needs to be set and maintained.

However lately the decisions seem to be taken hastily, without analysing all the effects (and maybe consequences) they have. We’ve had scuffles with Wordpress before, but we’ve moved on, adapted, clarified or changed things. But this new decision directly affects themes – meaning it touches us the most.

Tempera 1.2.7 wakes up from hibernation

It’s been a long three months of freezing winter (with massive amounts of snow in places), but Tempera is now well rested and ready to return to fighting with the higher forces.

During this first round the fight consists of mostly localization and styling fixes, with a touch of Google fonts, new translations and some IE quirks. The pièce de résistance is, of course…

Nirvana 1.0.5 begins to thaw

No, you didn’t wet your WordPress. The moist you’re feeling in the front end of your site is normal and it’s coming straight from your favorite theme: Nirvana.

Follow us after the jump into uncharted waters in search of this version’s changelog.

Nirvana 1.0.4 gets an A in math

Math – the cause of most horrific disasters in history… well not quite, but math is indeed the culprit for Nirvana’s last release’s failing settings page. Fortunately Nirvana 1.0.4 took a quick course in advanced mathematics and learned that the best solution to avoid any issues is to consider negative fractions as equal to zero (if that makes sense).

So here she is, proud to show off her best grade in math – A (or 10, or 5… depending on what region of the world you’re in)

Nirvana 1.0.3 (re)embraces Google fonts

It is here! The fix that fixes all the previous fixes. After a (somewhat) long shaken up period, Nirvana 1.0.3 finally brings back the beloved Google fonts. And hopefully this time for good.

So you’d better get busy in setting up your very own Google fonts, hugging and kissing and loving them, for you may never know how long will pass before they’re gone again…

Nirvana 1.0.2 woke up with a hangover

The latest version of our Nirvana WordPress theme gets here right after the New Year and just in time to fix the nasty bug that broke the theme on some servers.

Join us after the jump to find out exactly what has happened in the last few hours leading up to this version’s release.

Nirvana 1.0.1 learns to fight

No more mister nice guy (uhm… girl) Nirvana. In this new update she finally learned to fight (against poorly written plugins that load their code all over the dashboard and break key functionality).

But despite posing as a bad girl, Nirvana 1.0.1 also brings a lot of head-relaxing fixes (among which the long awaited Google fonts functionality). For everything else…

Nirvana 1.0.0 – when one becomes another… one

Another verbose post for a round, solid and mostly trouble-free theme version 1.0. As you’ve probably noticed by now, we take our time before getting to the one-dot-zero version for any of our themes.

Join us after the jump for a special treat (lengthy changelog included).

Nirvana 0.9.9.9/10/11 finds the right path

Not long after the Tempera quad-pack we’ve got the recipe right and used all that we’ve recently learnt to cook a brand new Nirvana update… or maybe two.

Nirvanas 0.9.9.9, 0.9.9.10 and 0.9.9.11 bring mostly fixes and tweaks, but you’ll learn all about that after the jump.

Tempera 1.2.3/4/5/6 fights the system

No, we haven’t lost our mind; this is not a reverse countdown (a countup?). And we did not release a quadruple-update-in-one either.

This cryptic title deserves a decent explanation and it’s actually simpler than it seems: it appears I was overconfident on the Wordpress review process last time. While they did wonders then and managed to verify and approve two updates in the same day, the sun doesn’t always shine… in fact it got terribly dark after that. Worse still… the sun changed.

Never mess with mantra they say (or was it nirvana…)

Cryout Medussa quick update

CR2 Medussa for OpenCart war renamed to Cryout Medussa and received a cosmetic update improving the overall look of products, lists and prices and two new configurable options:
– Products Per Row – defines the number of products to be displayed per row on product list pages (variable on the presence or absence of sidebars)
– Footer About column – adds a separate entirely editable “About” text section in the footer (with support for 30 social icons)

Nirvana 0.9.9 and a déjà-vu

Yes, you’re seeing correctly, and no, you’re not in the matrix and this is not a system glitch. You’re witnessing a new record here at Cryout Creations; and this time it’s a positive one.

For the first time ever, we’ve managed to release two updates the same day, and they’re both for the same theme – Nirvana.

Nirvana 0.9.8 is a fixer

There isn’t a single new addition to the theme with this update. There isn’t anything new for you to try and then enjoy or damn to hell for not working properly.

But what this new update lacks in innovation it makes up for in fixes. Check them out with the changelog.

Nirvana 0.9.7 goes back to the feature… of duality

A new version of Nirvana brings as always a new post explaining the changes and new features that now reside within the theme.

This is not your average theme, and as you’ll soon find out: once you go Nirvana you can never go back… to the Dalai Lama?
