Fluida 0.9.5(.1/.2) stays in limbo

Fluida sighed and took a quick glimpse at the sun but soon after the storms returned. She’s now trapped on the adrift review process that seems to never reach the shores.

But not all hope is lost. Here to brighten the day a bit, an update comes to sync the world with the development process. For the full list of changes…

Tempera 1.4.2 has some new ideas

Despite unfounded rumours, there may still be some ideas left for Tempera. This new update brings all the additions, improvements and fixes the previous update forgot or didn’t even think about.

There are quite a bunch and wouldn’t fit in the intro, so for the full list…

Nirvana 1.2.4 learns new things about microformats

While the school year is coming to an end, learning time is never over for Nirvana.

This is a maintenance update which improves microformats support, adds new WordPress.org theme tags (and removes old ones) and fixes several CSS and content issues. For the full list of changes…

Parabola 1.7 knows it all

Three years ago (almost to the day) we were taunting you with our (then) brand new theme. In the meantime dust has settled, scratches appeared, but the bookmark was never removed. It took three years of learning and studying its younger siblings for Parabola 1.7 to gather all the knowledge and code to grow further.

With this release we want to thank our (veteran) Parabola users by bringing two heavily requested features in the biggest update yet…

Fluida 0.9.4.3 gets shoved back

Fluida already made it past a checkpoint, there were no “please come with me”, no “what’s in the bag?”, no strip searches, no night-long interrogations, the second checkpoint was within reach, things were starting to look bright, and then out of nowhere it happened…

There was no warning, no foretelling signs. With a simple phrase not even directed at her, Fluida got shoved all the way back to the end of the line. The bright doorway is far in the distance again…

Tempera 1.4.1 runs out of ideas

Normally, an update post would start with something grand (or something terrible) about what the new update brings. Unfortunately, Tempera has a lapse in new ideas so this time there’s nothing new (and nothing terribly wrong about it either).

This update exists simply to catch up on fixes with her siblings.

Fluida 0.9.4(.1/.2) feels accepted

Fluida is about to become popular. She’s been approved and accepted in the WordPress.org cool group of themes and will soon join her siblings. And to celebrate this event we improved Fluida with even more fixes and additions.

We’re also working on Fluida’s own Presentation Page which should join in on the fun in a future theme update. Stay tuned!

Fluida 0.9.3(.1) glances at the end of the line

Three months and 500 queued themes later, Fluida is nearing the end of the review line and will soon enter the door into WordPress’ Theme Review virtual offices. What awaits her there – nobody knows…

However, to prepare for this, we’ve gathered up a fresh set of features and fixes in Fluida’s backpack.

Mantra 2.5.0 is nearing 5 years with a tear

Updates celebrate milestones; updates bring fixes and improvements; updates build and expand upon collected knowledge. But sometimes updates can also bring hurtful changes.

Mantra 2.5.0 is in a happy/sad mood – celebrating almost 5 years of existence but losing part of itself at the same time.

Just like with her sisters we have set up an alternative solution. As we previously announced, we decided to retain the settings page functionality and move it to a separate plugin.

Parabola 1.6.1 follows suit

Parabola finally dares make a step beyond the line and bring an out of order update…. but only because the changes are so small that life could go on even without them at this moment.

Still, Parabola likes to keep in line with her sisters and stay updated.

Fluida 0.9.2 sheds some weight

Although lost in the theme review queue for quite a while now, Fluida wastes no time to expand and improve itself. The new update brings new options controlling main layout alignment, header widget alignment, comment form width and comments date appearance.

Other mentionable changes are the removal of all bundled font files in favour of Google Fonts and support for PHP older than 5.3. For the full list…

Nirvana 1.2.3 gets along with notifications

Although new blood is in town, Nirvana still strides to stay ahead and updated. As such, 1.2.3 made a quick pass to drop in the latest improvements and fixes.

This round: better caching handling, better notices handling, some easier styling customization, some missing stickies, some homepage and functionality usage clarifications…

Parabola 1.6 isn’t left behind

Being older and wiser, we have tried to spare Parabola for as long as possible the pain of having part of her soul ripped out and removed like a piece of defective code. But unfortunately things need to evolve, bugs need to be fixed and improvements added, so the time has come for Parabola to lose her settings options as well.

Just like with her sisters we have prepared for this moment and set up an alternative solution…

Tempera 1.4(.0.1) feels empty on the inside

The battle was tough, words have been said, code was written, thrown around or deleted, and although Tempera fought well the stronger powers could not be thwarted – in the end, Tempera lost its settings options…

But don’t despair. We have prepared for this moment and set up an alternative solution. As we have previously announced, we decided to retain the settings page functionality and move it to the separate Cryout Serious Theme Settings plugin.

Fluida – our new WordPress theme is ready for download

It’s all been so quiet lately, hasn’t it? Too quiet. And calm. Well, all this calm is about to come to an end, and as calm always does, it’s about to make way to a fierce storm.

And this particular storm comes in the form of… wait for it… wait for it… a new WordPress theme! Dig into the announcement post to find out more…

Nirvana 1.2(.1/.2) loses part of its soul

The saddest moment in Nirvana’s life has come: the settings page – it’s gone! Due to higher forces that are beyond our control, the theme has just lost part of her soul.

However, do not panic. We have prepared for this moment and set up an alternative solution. As we have previously announced, we decided to retain the settings page functionality and move it to the separate Cryout Serious Theme Settings plugin.

WordPress and theme options part II – the fracture

As you might know by now, themes in the official repository are no longer allowed to implement a theme options page. All new themes were required since early this year to implement support for the Customizer and some weeks ago this rule became mandatory for themes already published in the repository as well.

We’ve given this a great deal of thought and we decided not to transfer theme options to the Customizer interface. We built our themes settings to fit and work in a certain way and we feel the Customizer structure just isn’t right for them.

To be able to continue providing theme updates…
