How to use the presentation page columns

Tempera introduced a new way of defining presentation page columns contents. This new method allows for an infinite number of columns (and hopefully better support for translation plugins).

The new columns can easily grab their content from theme-specific widgets placed in the dedicated widget area, or from specially crafted posts. To learn more…

Tempera 0.9.5 is halfway there

A new batch of fixes and small improvements meant to make Tempera more stable has been deployed. A few more of these small patches will follow in the next few weeks as we approach the glorious version 1.0.

Meet us after the bump for the full changelog.

How to translate a WordPress theme II

Translating WordPress themes is actually very easy. With the help of some screenshots and some simple guidelines you’ll have your theme translated in no time.

So without further ado let’s get on with it and explain a second way of translating themes (and plugins). This procedure does not require you to play with files or install programs. All you need is the Codestyling Localization plugin for Wordpress.

Show your WordPress theme some love

Are you happy with the WordPress theme you’re using? Would you consider yourself and your theme as best buds? Or do you think of your theme as sexy?

Themes are a big part of what makes WordPress great and the search for that perfect one is a long and winding road. Has that road come to and end for you?

Tempera 0.9.4.1 wishes you the best

Just as we were crossing over into the new year, this week-old update became live and Tempera made its way into WordPress’ list of most popular themes of the moment.

This is also Tempera’s first official update post so all in all it’s a pretty big moment. Anybody got any champagne left?

Tempera is LIVE and waiting for you!

For all those of you that find it too much of a hustle to download and manually install themes, well, our latest theme Tempera is now live on WordPress.org so you’re really just a click away from it.

For those that manually installed it, you can now update to the latest version. Join us after the jump for the changelog and the LIVE celebration.

Mantra 2.3.2 is retracing its steps

Mantra has second thoughts and decided to redo two of the changes it has already done, but in a different way. Additionally, it fixed some responsiveness issues and got half ready for Wordpress 3.8.

Parabola 1.3.2 is taking charge of the buttons

The latest version comes with several fixes which prove that Parabola is trying to take control of its many (now fixed) buttons and become sentient.

In other news Bebas Neue font now includes support for regional characters; other small changes include Wordpress 3.8 readyness and cosmetic changes in the settings page.

Last breath of our alter ego

It was born 3 years ago. It took over Mantra and grew it to what it is today. It has lived a short but fruitful life and then it retired, spending its last year helping Cryout Creations expand it’s grip on the world.

Riot Reactions, our (evil) alter ego for about 2 years is now taking its last breath…

The new TEMPERA theme is ready for download

Our latest theme – Tempera – has finally entered beta state and is ready for download. We’re counting on you guys to give it a try and let us know what you like and what you don’t like about it, what works and what doesn’t.

Mantra 2.3.1 and the cosmetic changes

Another update keeping up with the trend started in v2.3.0 which means more cosmetic changes.

This version also fixes the search form, adds a new Steam icon and removes the auto-redirect to the theme’s settings page after theme install / update.

Parabola 1.3.1 and the little things

Not much to say about this version. Just some small cosmetic changes, a new social icon (Steam) and a small fix for multi-line breadcrumbs.

We also disabled the auto-redirect to Parabola’s settings page after theme install / update. Full changelog after the click.

Tempera Theme sneak preview

It may seem that Cryout Creations turned into a one man team lately, but the truth is that while Zed has been making update announcements and provided (some) support, Mr. Kay in true creative mind and spirit has been investing almost all time in constructing his latest masterpiece: the Tempera theme.

Currently in (almost) beta state, Tempera is a siamese twin of Parabola options wise but a wealthy distant cousin as features and functionality are concerned. With just a few more things to put into place, the Tempera theme should be released in the upcoming days.

Mantra 2.3.0 gets some extra attention

Mantra received attention in the form of new responsiveness enhancements, a new media uploader, smaller social icons, updated comments and form design, updated admin interface design and some other small fixes.

More about Mantra’s revieved attention and the full changelog for this update after the jump.

Parabola 1.3.0 touches responsiveness again

In this update we addressed the responsiveness issue again. With new browser detection and a responsive check for resolutions below 1100px, responsiveness has been greatly improved.

This version also comes bundled with improved plugin compatibility and a new media uploader for the theme settings page. Full changelog after the jump.

Mantra 2.2.2 loves twos

And since good things come in pairs, today both our Parabola and Mantra updates got published (almost at the same time) by Wordpress.

The triple-two release of Mantra is a maintenance update providing fixes for some issues discovered since the last release.

Parabola 1.2.2 skips a beat

After a bit of quarrel with the Wordpress theme review team (which even triggered a Codex instructions/rules update) and a rejected update, Parabola won and the new version is up for grabs.

The major change is in the presentation page’s behaviour, which will now display latest posts by default and which can be overridden by Wordpress’ “Show on frontpage” option…

Mantra 2.2.1 took the scenic route

You might have thought we were goners after such a long pause in new posts… but we did not go quietly into the night… we did not vanish without a fight… we’ve fought the cold and now we’re back!

Between fighting viruses and running noses, we actually found some time to update both Mantra and Parabola and also prepare a surprise to all creation lovers out there…
