In reply to: Import/Export don't work 1.3.1

Forgot to mention that I am still using WP 3.7.1 with Parabola 1.2.2.
I am leery of doing any kind of updating without being able to export current settings.

I am currently using Parabola 1.2.2 with Firefox 26.0 and NoScript 2.6.8.8 (permission granted for the website I am updating).
I have tried to export the Theme Option Settings, but I get a page full of error statements onscreen instead. I have captured the page as an html file if you would like to look it over.
Here is an extract:
“Notice: ob_clean() [ref.outcontrol]: failed to delete buffer. No buffer to delete. in /home/content/24/4774624/html/bcregimentband/wp-content/themes/parabola/admin/admin-functions.php on line 8Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/24/4774624/html/bcregimentband/wp-content/themes/parabola/admin/admin-functions.php:8) in /home/content/24/4774624/html/bcregimentband/wp-content/themes/parabola/admin/admin-functions.php on line 31”
The error for line 31 is repeated for lines 32, 33, 34, 37, 38, 39, 41.
There is more stuff that follows; from the looks of it, I think that it is the theme options data.

Perhaps it is a good thing that I have not yet updated to Parabola 1.3.2. I have no problems with updating settings in version 1.2.2.
However, attempting to export the theme settings leads to a pagefull of code error statements. I have captured the page, so if a Cryout software manager wants to look it over, I’ll be happy to send a copy upon request.

Hi Olivia, I don’t have the answer to your problem, but I hope you get it fixed!
I’m jumping on this article because it seems the most sensible to group website responsive under a single post.
My problem is that when I use Windows snap feature to the edge of the screen (so you can get two equal size windows on either side), my text and containers are not responding to the new size properly, and some the text is missing. I find this annoying and I imagine my readers will too. Any advice would be very appreciated. I love your parabola theme by the way, keep up the good work! Here is a screenshot on what I am experiencing:

As of today i got the message in WordPress:
The Parabola Settings page cannot function without jQuery. This results in that i’m not able to
– Open the installed plugin page (stays blank)
– Cannot update WordPress to the latest version (after update button page stays blank)
– Cannot alter any Parabola settings because of the “The Parabola Settings page cannot function without jQuery. ” message.
– I did not update or installed any other plugins. This theme worked great for weeks, now all the sudden its locked. Please help me out what is going on here. I need to update my website and i’m stuck.

Hi
I think if you go into Parabolas Graphics Settings and select the first image under Post Images Borders this should allow PNG files to show without a border and stripes. Obviously that will be same for all images within posts.
I hope this helps
Jim…

Hi
I am using Parabola on my development site – great theme – and I am quite happy to have the copyright footer displayed. I am using a large full-screen background image, centred, not tiled, fixed. I have noticed that if the user selects a page on which there is not much text, causing the copyright footer to be displayed immediately, after viewing a page with enough text on it not to cause the copyright footer to be displayed unless you scroll down far enough, the whole display including the background image lurches slightly to one side. This is a bit disconcerting/untidy. Seems not to be browser related. Is this a bug or a “feature” ?

Greg
just what I tried so far:
-re-installed the theme
-turn off all of the plugins
-different internet browsers (Chrome and Firefox)
-waiting (surely doesn’t help)To be more precise I go to Appearance -> Parabola settings and change whatever I like, hit the ‘save changes’ button then ‘Parabola settings updated successfully.’ pops up at the top. When i go to my website to check out the outcome nothing is changed, and when I get back to Parabola Settings everything is back to default.
anyone any idea how to make it work? It seems like no one else has this issue.

A few things to try:
Under SETTINGS/PERMALINKS make sure you have POST NAME checked off. Depending on how you set the site up, this can effect the URLs in some browsers.
When you’re in the Page Edits, at the top, you’ll see a place you can edit the Permalink. See what that’s doing and change it if you have to.
Under Parabola Settings, Miscellaneous, make sure you have the IE Compatibility Tags enabled. I don’t think that would have an effect, but might as well try. LOL

Hi, I just installed the Parabola upgrade and now I have no slider, nor any of the columns. I checked the presentation page settings and they seem to be the same as they were before the update.

Cryout Creations mastermindYou must have received a broken (incomplete) theme archive from WordPress’ servers.
We’ve had this happen before and they’re working on fixing this issue. The only solution is to delete the theme and reinstall it.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

i wonder if anybody could help me with my problem…?

1. To add dropdowns, just go to Appearance -> menu and create your own menu or edit that you have. Pull pages that you need under the Poppies Portfolio menu line, just little bit down and right. That’s how you’ll get dropdowns.
2. No
3. In Parabola settings you have an option to move your tittle manually, just fill the right amount of align under your logo options. You have to do it manually, no auto option.December 9th, 2013 at 00:33 #14470In reply to: how to center the site header/title ?
Ash
I had a similar question, I was told: You can make it appear centred by setting the site title left margin value in the Header Settings area (on the theme’s options page) to the appropriate value
So Appearance>Parabola Setting> Header settings> Header Content Spacing and fix those number

Hi, I found another thread on here, with a similar issue and it was suggested to remove the theme from the admin files and re-install.
BINGO! It worked.
Crisis over, thanks for the awesome theme and great support threads.
(dunno how to close this issue but consider it resolved)

The same thing happened to me. Not only that: After that “not found” page within my site, when I tried to go to the dashboard or Home page, the whole site crashed and this time I got a Google message (not within my site) of “Page not found”.
This never happened to me with Parabola.
By the way, the site where I am testing Tempera is http://www.martinyrocha.cl
Cheers!

Cryout Creations mastermindHi Bruce!
We didn’t get that in any of our tests. We’d like to know if you ever got that with Parabola.
Also for debugging purposes since you say it’s not an important site, you could create a new Premium support ticket and give us temp login details for that site so we could check it out ourselves.
Thanks again for the feedback!

Bill, looks like Zed’s response seems final. I too want to remove the “Powered by WordPress” cause it’s a target for spammers. This template over-rides two applications I installed to remove that footer tag line for security purposes on page and posts.
There’s an option to remove this credit line on the “Presentation page” via the theme admin page
> Click on the “Presentation Page” option
> Scroll down to the last item in this option to the “Hidden areas” option…
> Check the “Hide the footer (copyright area).
These steps remove the credit from the presentation (front) page only.
Zed, what’s the price (upgrade) to have this option applied to all pages / posts?

Cryout Creations mastermindYou must have skipped a couple of theme versions.
Parabola 1.2.2 changelog:
– presentation page now displays latest posts by default (requested by WordPress); this can be disabled in the theme settings
– presentation page no longer overrides static page (requested by WordPress); make sure you don’t select a static page under Settings > Reading or you will no longer see the presentation pageIf you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

I would like to continue giving you credit, but is there a place that I can change the wording of this tag line? I would like to change it to read as follows:
