Managing the theme settings requires that Parabola is the active theme and that your user has administrative permissions.

Are you referring to Parabola’s built-in slider or an existing slider?

I see. That makes lots of sense.

I have tried a number of your themes but not Parabola, I guess this is why I misunderstood it — I thought you built the preset color picker purely for the demo.

Since the preset color schemes are part of Parabola’s configurations and not other themes, you are right that having a preset picker in other demos does not make much sense and are probably not cost-effective enough.

Parabola includes preset color schemes which can be activated with a single click.
Kahuna does not include such schemes so there is nothing to select in the demo. We have no longer included preset color schemes in the newer themes as we have found that not many theme users actually used them (compared to the work that went into integrating them and keeping them updated with newer theme releases) and the whole functionality required rewriting from scratch to work with the customize-based options.
The newer themes include fewer distinct color options (as we’ve grouped various elements in sets) so they are easier to customize to obtain a certain color scheme.

Concerning the “showcase” subforums, we’ve found that they are only lightly used and that users also post their questions incorrectly there (and get answers very late or never, since we don’t monitor them as closely as the bugs and how-to sections).

Are RGB codes now accepted in the color settings of the parabola settings or must it be done in the additional CSS.

I am working on two versions of the same site. One in french and one in the other. The french version has an RGB code in the the background color of the main menu, it is #rgba(24, 24, 24, 0.15). The shading i am looking for appears in the main menu. I tried the same code in the english version of the site and it does not work. Not sure what to check anymore

I see you’re using Parabola, not Verbosa, so I’ve moved your topic to the correct forum.

Parabola is capable of displaying a logo image instead of the site title – check its Header settings (in the theme’s settings page).

If you’re displaying a static page, then it should be no different than the rest of the singe pages you added the background on.

If you’re displaying the posts list (or the theme’s presentation page feature which is an extension of the posts list), this behaves like a category/archive.

I’m displaying the themes presentation page, where I like to add the background-video as body.

Did you add the background video on other categories/archives? How?

Doesn’t the plugin provide a general way of setting a background video site-wide (CSS and/or script)?

Septera and Parabola use different configuration interfaces because themes are now required to use the customizer interface for their options (something that wasn’t the case when we created Parabola).

You’ll find all of Septera’s options in the customizer interface (Appearance > Customize).

I looked in the file “style. css ” From Twenty Fourteen, I found some code for the galleries.
I added the code in “style. css ” in the theme parabola
I just edit for 3 columns, instead of 33.33%, I put 30%

Thanks you very much Zed… That did the trick… I have been using woothemes gazette for many many years but it is so outdated and not responsive. I decided to redo the website with a new theme. I love the parabola theme but have a lot to learn about it. Thanks again.

I’ve added a gallery, I usually use WordPress for over 10 years. I was a moderator on the forum of WordPress-fr.net.
And if I change the theme, everything is good, the problem is there, just with two themes from Cryout Creations, Tempera and Parabola.

One could ask the reverse as well: is Elementor compatible with Parabola?

Two extensions need to be aware of each other to work together correctly if they modify each other’s functionality. Since the theme does not modify any of the plugin’s functionality, it is the plugin that needs to be compatible with the theme, or be configurable and be able to have its processes adjusted to work in most cases.

There are thousands of themes and hundreds of content-related plugins (including page-builders) in the .org repository alone. It’s impossible for all of them to be aware of each other or compatible out-of-the-box.

If the plugin asks for element identifiers to properly perform its functions, then those identifiers should be set. Even then, due to the multiple ways a theme can work and behave in, compatibility still cannot be guaranteed.

The theme registers 3 image sizes: header, slider, parabola-columns.
The code for them is located in the includes/theme-setup.php file.

That is how Parabola’s presentation page columns are designed to work.
As the image is placed before the title in the markup, to reorder them you’d need to customize the code outputting the HTML (originally found in frontpage.php).

Parabola’s presentation page is an extension of the default WordPress posts list homepage. You can set its SEO attributes from the same place you’d set them for the default homepage. Yoast, for example, has these options in its general settings.

In WordPress one file handles multiple usage cases. For example in Parabola page.php will render *all* static pages. The pages (and other content elements, like posts) themselves are stored by WordPress in the database, not files.

If you’re looking to customize a single content element beyond what the dashboard editor can do ( even with additional plugins), you can use the template hierarchy map to identify which file will be used to render that particular content element:

You normally start by copying the default handler file from the theme to your child theme and customizing it from there.

1. The theme uses WordPress’ built-in wp_trim_words() function to generate the excerpt and this should work even with Asian languages. Do you have any other theme excerpt-related options enabled (like HTML excerpts)?

2/3. Did this appear after Parabola’s 2.2.2 update? We haven’t really changed anything related to featured images or padding in this update (or any recent one for that matter).

I see the indicated site is running Nirvana, not Parabola. Did you switch themes?

Can you test that with any of our other themes (Parabola/Nirvana)? It should indicate whether there’s a limit to the number of variables that can be saved (or a general form POST-ing issue) or something in theme’s settings that’s causing the problem.
