In reply to: Header test of the page in all excerpt of articles !
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
I see you’re using extra functionality to display a posts list inside a (static) page, with the posts incorrectly displaying the page’s excerpt instead of their owns. This may be caused by several factors, including some theme functionality.
Since I don’t have a site configured with your exact setup, I cannot test for this myself. So please check if the posts list displays the correct posts excerpts when (temporarily) having one of the default Twenty themes active.
If they work correctly with a Twenty theme, reactivate Mantra and check if setting the theme’s two excerpt-related options to the “full post” option resolves this.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
The quick multi-image functionality is a shortcut and is only available on the initial creation of the slider.
Subsequent edits are done slide-by-slide and you’ll need to add or edit the additional images/slides individually.We’ve made the plugin use the familiar WordPress editing functionality for the management to make it simpler to use. The add/edit slide screens are identical with the add/edit post or page screens, where the title field will be used as the slide caption title, the text is used as the caption text and the featured image becomes the slide (image) itself.
Sliders behave like post categories, where a slider can (and usually does) hold and display multiple slides (the equivalent of posts).If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
In Bravada the main navigation cannot be completely disabled. You can assign an empty custom menu to the main navigation area to turn off the display of a menu, however the burger icon will remain displayed to provide access to the search form, social icons and the Side widget area.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
Bravada features two navigation areas in its header:
– the main navigation is displayed over the site via the burger icon on the top-right corner – this is also the menu that’s used for the mobile devices and its the area that displays the auto-generated pages list menu when no custom menu is assigned to it;
– a secondary navigation (called top navigation) can also be visible at the top of the site, in line with the burger icon; this navigation is not displayed on the smaller mobile devices;If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
I assume you are referring to the featured boxes sections (since those are the only sections that display posts and come in multiple instances).
There is no readily available option to configure such behaviour, however you can make use of the theme’s query filter to override the query responsible with retrieving the posts:$args = apply_filters( 'bravada_boxes_query_args', array( 'showposts' => $options['theme_lpboxcount' . $sid], 'cat' => cryout_localize_cat( $cat ), 'ignore_sticky_posts' => 1, 'lang' => cryout_localize_code() ), $options['theme_lpboxcat' . $sid], $sid ); $custom_query->query( $args );If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Hi Zed,
Thanks for your reply.
1. I log in to my site always we the same user, and the message keeps on nagging me. when I click “do not display again” I am taken to the Verdant/Kahuna page but the message is still there. If I log out and back in it is there again.
2. Ok, fair Enough.
3. Maybe I had Arcanum installed in parallell as I was testing many themes.
So only point #1 is an actual issue then.

February 16th, 2021 at 01:01 #114082Note that if you have a child theme that uses Mantra as the parent, and you have added ‘mantra_comment’ in your child theme’s functions to override how Mantra displays comments, you have to modify their base ‘mantra comment’ to include a new ‘case statement:
switch ( $comment->comment_type ) : case '' : case 'comment': // add this lineThis ‘bit’ me because my modified mantra_comment overrode the fix that Mantra installed to fix the bug in their original ‘mantra_comment’ function. Adding the above fixed the issue of comments not displaying in my child theme that uses Mantra as the parent – my implementation of the child theme used ‘mantra_comment’ from prior versions.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
If you’re looking to hide the byline displayed under posts titles on single post sections, the following CSS should handle that:.single #header-page-title .byline { display: none; }Note that this byline is only displayed for posts that have manual excerpts set.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
The theme’s landing page posts list is an extension of the default WordPress homepage posts list, so any plugin that can customize and filter the default list will also work with Bravada.
Neither WordPress nor the theme provide filtering options for what is displayed in the standard blog posts list.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
You’re going at this the wrong way. Instead of trying to remove the messages through which WordPress tells you it doesn’t know what to display (mostly because your site has no content at all), you should create the content that you want displayed and configure it where it should be displayed.

Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
Which landing page section are you displaying that particular page in?
For icon blocks and featured boxes, setting a manual excerpt for that page should prevent its full content to be used (unless the block options are set so).
However text areas always display full content from the source page.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
Space between elements can be customized (if desired) with CSS.
The theme can display up to 4 icon block elements in one section – this number is raised in the Plus edition of the theme to 9 icon block elements in 2 separate sections.
These limits cannot be easily increased since each element displayed on the frontend requires a dashboard configuration option.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Cryout Creations mastermindThe theme does not control the order menu items are displayed in.
The menu content (be it the automatically generated pages list or a custom menu) is directly generated by WordPress.
For complete control over the menu’s content and structure, I recommend using a custom menu.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindYou can, of course, display posts lists inside (static) pages, but the theme’s job is generally taking care of how the content looks, not where it comes from or which one it is. It is more of a task up for plugins to provide additional widgets and/or shortcodes to let you choose what content is displayed where beyond the default functionality of WordPress.
You can go along two paths for this:
– search for a plugin that lets you customize categories appearance (header/background) separately from the rest of the site and make use of WordPress’ built-in post filtering capabilities.
– search for a plugin that lets you display posts list inside pages – but since this is beyond default functionality the plugin will also be in control of the posts’ appearance there.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Apologies – I did some rework to try and correct things (including deleting the blog and restarting with a different page name … which is the reason why the URL was’t available anymore).
Right now the page doesn’t hang anymore but it doesn’t display the image that I indicated in the set-up … it flips back to the default theme image for one reason or another.
Here’s the new blog page: https://entre-parentheses32.com/dernieres-nouvelles/.
As you can see it displays the default image (from “Site Identity”) although on the blog page itself I set up another one.
Thx for following up!

January 25th, 2021 at 21:46 #112873In reply to: Disappearing page content (not posts).
Good evening.
There were some problems on my website after the last theme update. It’s about pages, not posts. Posts display properly, but pages don’t. Content disappears while pages are displayed. Also when scrolling the page.
For example: http://www.wolnykanal.pl/o-mnie/
Where can I look for a solution to my problem?

Another useful trick, if Pencil/Edit button disturbs you previewing pages, when logged in as admin, you can hide Edit link using such css code:
.entry-meta > span {
display: none;
margin-right: 1em;
}January 23rd, 2021 at 12:59 #112761In reply to: Get rid of white space between content and footer
Searched most forums here, seems css code for other themes, works also well for Anima.
Tested, works also with Roseta.
Remove white space between content and footer:
article.hentry, .main .content-widget {
display: block;
position: relative;
margin-bottom: 0em;

Power UserHi Zed,
You’re wondering why I’d want to have more than one Posts Page. Here’s why:
My website is where I publish my short stories, essays and poetry. The perfect thing would be for me to have a different “look” for each category. For example, the picture in the Short Story header, the background, etc. would be different. One for stories, one for essays, and so forth.
I actually thought about having a different sub-domain for each one, but that means lots of extra maintenance, I think.
Fluida has the option in the PLUS version to have different templates for pages. I think this means that these templates make it easier to design pages like “Log In” or “About Always Rejoicing” or such. Now, this is probably a WordPress.org question, but, after reading your answer, I’m wondering if I could set up a page with a template and a widget that would display the “Poetry” category…??? The “BLOCKS” on the Landing Page do this. I’ve set up my test site with the category “Favorites” and now I can have a block on the Landing Page that displays the stories in my “Favorites” category. I really, really like that very much.
Parabola has the “Categories” widget that I use as a menu device. But the Blocks in Fluida work so much better. (BTW…it’s because Parabola has problems on the iPhones that I started searching for another theme. I’m sure you’ll fix it. But I began to realize that my design looked dated. That started me searching for the ‘perfect’ theme for me.)
I wish I could test the PLUS version, but I understand that if I download the theme and it ‘does not fit’ I can’t ‘return’ it like I would a shirt or jeans.
It looks like I will have to subscribe to the extra support, as I’m starting to produce a ton of questions.
Thanks for answering my question.
Rejoice Always!

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindIn the 1.2.1 update we changed the default value of the header content option from just title to both logo and title (to remove the need for the extra step of changing this option after assigning a logo image on the site).
if you had a logo image already assigned that wasn’t displayed before but you now want to disappear, remove the logo image or turn the option back to “Site title” to hide the logo.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindThe image displayed in the theme by default on the landing page (homepage), below the menu, is not the configured header image but a static slider placeholder which is configurable from the theme’s options under Landing Page > Slider.
Due to technical limitations the initial sample image is not visible in the customizer panel. To replace it simply assign a different image. To remove the sample image, assign any other image in its place and then remove it.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
I think we may have discussed this through the support service as well. In case we didn’t and I’m mixing up questions and for anyone else wandering the same thing I’ll try answering here too:
The theme’s slider section visible on the homepage is an integral part of the landing page feature.
The theme does not include this section on other site sections because it already has a header section which displays more information than just the header image (specifically when header titles are used). Replacing the header image/titles section with a slider poses some structural and functionality questions that may be easily answerable for a specific site but cannot be resolved globally for everyone using the theme.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindFor obvious reasons (maintenance and saving on some headaches ;-)) our themes share a lot of the code between them (within the two sets – classic and customizer-based, more specifically). Choosing between themes from the same set is mostly a visual choice.
WordPress’ blog page carries the specific functionality of displaying all posts from all categories in a (descending) freshness order. While having one such section makes total sense, I’m not sure how two or more would work – do they simply display the same posts in the same manner or how would they be different?
If the intended outcome is to display different posts filtered by a criteria (category? tags? author?), that’s already possible with WordPress’ built-in various category / tags / archive sections.We’re definitely not perfect (but one can hope…) so we can’t really decide for you what to theme to chose. The best we can do is answer specific questions about what a theme can or can’t do, and also how.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindThe slider supports two responsiveness modes through its configuration: one favours the display of captions by maintaining height (at the expense of image sides), while the other keeps the entire image visible but reduces available space for captions.
Choose the one that works best with your usage case.
