HTML Tags in Excerpts

TE PA NI MA

By default WordPress auto-excerpts remove all HTML tags and only filtered text is left in the excerpt. Enabling this option allows HTML tags to remain in excerpts so all formating will be kept. If HTML tags are enabled and formatting is present in the bit of text that is used in the excerpt, care needs to be used to ensure no HTML tags remain open after the automatic excerpt generation.
