Header images seems to be ok now with 1.4
But I still suffer from a frontpage that misses the left side widget as this page uses another template than the rest of the pages.Standard template is a 2 column setup with a right widget – but my frontpage is 3 column with left and right widget – but I cannot display the left widget

Cryout Creations mastermindThat CSS bit only works on flex elements, so you’d need to use:
#access > .menu > ul { display: flex; justify-content: space-between; }If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

I disabled all the plugins, but no luck in getting the read more to work.
I played around with the settings, and it appears that the read more button AND the entered excerpts show up if you have the HTML TAGS IN EXCERPTS set to Disable.I don’t have anything odd in the posts that I can tell – but I can duplicate the issue of no read more button and no entered excerpts displaying when I add a category link to the menu, and when I create a page using the Category Page with Intro.

I’d like to be able to have the html tags set to enable if possible,,,,,

Cryout Creations mastermindThat code will not work in the theme’s Custom JS field (at least not in its current form).
As it is meant to display content, you need to place it in a content area – like a Text widget.

Cryout Creations mastermindThen you should try using a custom menu. By default the theme will display WordPress’ autogenerated menu, which includes all published pages.

Ok, but what about my issue of the site images still not displaying properly as mentioned just above?
On my iphone, the images on the presentation/home page seem to be stretched. They are in 16×9 ratio, and look fine on the slider and on the computer screen, but on the iphone in the ‘latest posts section’ below the slider they seem to be stretched to the width of the iphone but for some reason are not proportionally taller as well, so they appear thin and stretched horizontally.
But when you go into the posts themselves, the images display quite small, they don’t reach all the way to the sides and have a big border round them, so the photo itself is quite small, especially the landscape-shaped ones.
I’d send you a screen grab but I don’t think I can here…
Can either of these issues be fixed?

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindI very much doubt the featured video would automatically replace the featured image in the column as that is not standard WordPress functionality. It pretty much depends on how the plugin handles (overrides) the frontend display functionality for the featured images.

Look under the Post Information Settings section on the theme’s settings page – that’s the case when the theme will display featured images (thumbnails) in posts lists. If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

I am also having problems with full posts showing even though I have selected excerpts.
I am also having problems with shortcode being displayed in the post preview on the main page.
I hope there is an answer to this problem soon.

Hi Zed,
Many thanks for the pointer. For info it appears that it was W3 Total Cache plugin that caused the issue. Once deactivated and removed the slider now appears and displays correctly.
Thank you for the help.

Our presentation page is set to display “latest posts from category” as opposed to “Widget Columns”. So the solutions proposed above will not work as we are not using widgets for the presentation page. Is their a plugin that you can recommend that would replace the “featured image” with a “featured video” to be displayed as the feature on the home page?

Hi
Following on from the previous chat, my site is still not displaying posts correctly on the homepage. I’ve made a screen grab but I don’t think I can attach it here.
Basically instead of having all the post lined up in rows of three like this:X X X
X X X
X X XEtc…
I’m getting this… or varieties of this:
X
X
X X XI don’t understand why there are random gaps, nor how to fix it. It looks weird and wrong. Can you help?
Thanks

Now when I create a child theme all I see in the theme editor is that:
This child theme inherits templates from a parent theme, Fluida.
Can I edit the main theme to display the main navigation centered or will it revert back to the original when updated.
Also can I just cut and paste the original style sheet into the child theme style sheet?October 13th, 2016 at 12:18 #39851In reply to: image height of the columns of the presentation page
Tested also on Android Tablet (samsung galaxy Tab A 9.7 inch display) and turning the device in portrati(2 rows and 2 columns), the images are distorted.
October 12th, 2016 at 10:57 #39822In reply to: Position of Posts on Presentation Page
Kay
Cryout Creations mastermindYou currently have the column text displayed under the column images. Also, when the column content appears on hover inside the images, it’s positioned in the center of the image, not at the top.
Before posting consider reading our short theme debugging instructions.
Please read the FAQs: Mantra • Nirvana • Parabola • Tempera
Tutorials: custom menus • translating theme • installing theme • category page with intro • disabling comments Wordpress: child themes • categories/posts
Before making any modifications to your theme we strongly recommend using Child Themes.October 12th, 2016 at 07:40 #39816I also just updated and have an almost identical issue using the Child Theme:
1. the presentation page Cryout columns align vertically in one column, rather than horizontally in one row.
2. the Top Text and Second Text font sizes appear reduced. However, if I live preview the site using through the main Tempera theme, the font size seems fine, and the Cryout columns do align horizontally. In the preview, however, it only displays Cryout columns 1, 2, & 4 – Column 3 vanishes altogether.
I also notice a search box in the main navigation bar in both the child and main theme, but cannot see how to disable/otherwise manipulate it.
(As an aside: I haven’t been to the site or the forums for a while, but I’m loving the new look!)

Can someone on the team help us to figure out what would be the best route for displaying videos directly on the home page as one of the featured columns? We are using Featured Video Plus with Tempera and its not working. Suggestions or recommendations?
October 11th, 2016 at 18:36 #39802Workaround to my quest…
Found a good plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/q2w3-fixed-widget/
Its simple to use. After installing it, under Appearance->Widgets, there are check boxes labelled “Fixed Widget” displayed under each widget so that each widget can be ‘fixed’ or floated separately. On our site rtfzine.org I also installed Display Widgets from https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-widgets/ which allows each page to have it’s own selection from your available widgets -or NO widgets at all displayed. This is probably an overkill workaround to our need to have a special piece of floating text appear on only one page. Using Display Widgets I’ve created a widget which is just plain text which will display a message on just one page. I did this because all the other floating element plugin I found required a unique document element ID and I don’t know how to determine Mantra element IDs. There is probably a custom CSS snippet which could be included in the Mantra Options->Miscellaneous Settings section?
If anyone can tell me now to determine the element ID or tags that Mantra’s PHP dynamically generates On-Load I would be very appreciative.
Cheers,
-MikeOctober 10th, 2016 at 12:34 #39761In reply to: image height of the columns of the presentation page
Thank you.
It works on various Android smartphone in portrait mode only.Turning the device in landscape (2 rows and 2 columns), the images are distorted.
On tablets instead, tried on Ipad Mini 2 with ios 10, in portratit mode (2 rows and 2 columns) the images are deformed (in landscape is displayed desktop version, one line with four columns)

Power UserIf u can use css fluida has custom css section. U can change content width in % to get the similar efects, and it will display nice on mobile too and it works for me. Or u can use media query for mobile and set padding to whatever u like.

100% agree.
Theme is great and lacks just one thing: to display sidebar under the content in mobile view.I wonder one thing: how did you manage to set the sidebar over the content on mobile, because on my website I never see sidebar on mobile. But all in all it does not matter, because it just would be great if everything was displayed under the content.
