In reply to: Custom style issue
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindI see your custom style is displayed in the source of the page and is active on the rendering.
Did you solve the issue? The only wrong thing i see is that part of the header image is missing. But you can easily fix that by increasing the header height to about 140px.
The JavaScript related messages is only a problem if it stays there all the time. You should only see it for a moment while your website is loading and then it should go away.

I have managed to sort it, by changing the text size under “mantra settings” from 14px to 16px but that doesn’t explain why it was displaying in two different sizes when it was set to 14px???

Cryout Creations mastermindIf you get to see it for a second, that means your admin area is just loading a bit slow but there’s nothing wrong.
It’s only a problem if the errors stays displayed after the page load is complete.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindThat’s a limitation that cannot currently be changed because the presentation page does not read images from WordPress’ library (so it cannot get their attributes) but displays them directly via the URLs inputted in the settings.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindComment options are controlled globally via Settings > Discussion for posts/pages created from now on and on a per post/page basis for all posts/pages that already exist (when editing the theme). Mantra’s settings only control how forms/texts are displayed on the site, not the actual comments or commenting functionality.
The “edit” button is a WordPress feature and is only visible to authenticated users with proper rights.

Cryout Creations mastermindDee, it’s normal to only see it while your dashboard is loading (slowly). Once jQuery finishes loading the message gets hidden.
It’s only a problem if it remains displayed on the page after it has completed loading.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindThere is no limit for the header logo. Make the logo as big as you want, but make sure the header height is enough for the logo to fit, otherwise you’ll only see the top part of the logo.

I did find out how to display my custom logo on mantra header, but now the problem is that it is so small that it is hard to see or read. I think there is a maximum size for a custom logo and that is why I can’t make it bigger. Is that correct? I created a logo in MS paint and text in MS publisher to make the logo.
May 12th, 2013 at 23:13 #6230In reply to: Is it a Posts or Presentation Page choice?
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindAre you previous posts displayed on the homepage when the presentation page is disabled?
If you enable the presentation page, you can still have a “blog page” if you edit your “Gwen’s Blog” page and set it to use the “Blog Template (Posts Page)” template.

Cryout Creations mastermindThis is not doable via the built-in options, but can be done by manually editing the header area and placing the flash there.
But you’ll lose responsiveness, logo/title support and the ability to display social icons in the header.

You can’t easily make Mantra display more than the built-in 5 social icons at once.

I have already found a solution to the Header visibility. I need to make the menu visible now. I can’t find what to put in the css. Here is what I have now:
@media print {
img#bg_image {
display: block !important;
margin: 0 auto !important;
}
#menu{ /*this part is not working, which css tag controls the menu?*/display: block !important;
}
}May 8th, 2013 at 16:47 #6037In reply to: responsive images
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindUse the “Visual” mode of the editor to paste code, otherwise it will be processed by the forum and not get displayed properly.
A screenshot would be even better.

First, I must say I love this theme! My latest site is the first using the Mantra theme and it is quite impressive. The only problem I have had is a similar logo issue. The header logo displays perfectly on any laptop/desktop, even when the browser window is re-sized to that of a smart phone. It also works perfectly to re-size the logo on an old droid phone and a Samsung tablet. However, on an iPhone or iPod, it displays a tiny distorted piece of the logo. On an iPad, it is fine in landscape, but the same distorted image in portrait. It would be nice to figure out this issue. Thanks for the wonderful theme!

Alex
Hi Shirley,
- When you are adding or editing a post, look at the top right of screen. You will notice a gray tab that says “Screen Options”. Click on it to display a drop down menu. There you can select the check box to display the comment section. Once checked, scroll down while you are in the add/edit post to select comments.
- You can change the font size of the header and description text in the Mantra settings page under the Appearance sidebar tab. From the Mantra settings page, select “Text Settings” to modify the font and size and “Color Settings” to modify the color.
- Are you wanting to move the Description text below the page title text? If so, remove the description text from the settings “General Settings” tagline and add the text to the page.
- Change the text size in the Mantra settings page “Text Settings”.
- You will only see that when you are logged in as a registered user to the site. Normal viewing will not see it. If you do not want to see the toolbar when viewing the site, edit your user profile and uncheck the box for “Show toolbar when viewing site”.
I hope that helps.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindThere is indeed an issue with how Mantra displays thelogo/favicon in the settings page, but both the logo and the favicon should work properly in the website.
Your favicon file as defined by the url – http://simplycarriacouwebdesign.com/doyleguides/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/favicon.jpg – does not exist.

Cryout Creations mastermindI do see an issue with your logo, but to make this even weirder, I’m seeing it in an Android tablet’s built-in browser (which is technically an unbranded Chrome).
I’ll dig this up some more and see what I come up with…

Just read that you can manually type in any HTML you want to display on the presentation page but where? Is that in the Extra Text fields or??
April 18th, 2013 at 19:18 #5267In reply to: Latest posts displayed on Presentation page?
Dan Ceder
So there is no way to add a post or page on the presentation page?
Shouldn’t it be easy to just go to the WP editor section and edit the php file that includs the presentation page code? Isn’t that a easy target?
Can you hard-code it in some way?
If not then can I put some html into the Extra Text section. I need to add some text and images to the presentation page.

I figured it out. Here is what I did.
1. Created a HomePage.png file and transferred to ../wp-content/themes/mantra/images/social/
2. Edited sanitize.php in ../mantra.admin/
3. Changed “Delicious” in string to “HomePage” (wasnt using Delicious)
4. Selected “HomePage” in WordPress – Appearance/Mantra Settings/Social Media Settings
That worked.

There is no comment field on posts inside the category page (and the home page is also a category page, which you’ve currently set to display one post only).
There is however a “Comment / X comments / Comments closed” button for each post inside a category page, but you’ve hid that when you set the theme to hide the meta bar.
