Parabola is a mobile-responsive site,
Please tell me where you get your information from. The FAQ says it’s responsive, not mobile responsive.

Go to Parabola Settings–>Graphics Settings–>Traingle Accents – select ‘disable’.
this should remove it.

Kay
Cryout Creations mastermindHi Julie,
Yes, you can only choose one category for the columns. If you want more control over them there’s a “Specific Posts” option where you can add the IDs of the posts you want.
Also, you seem to be using the Presentation Page just like it was intended to. We just added a Showcase forum for Tempera but you can check the Parabola and Mantra Showcase forums for more inspiration/understanding.
Good luck!

Kay
Cryout Creations mastermindHi Aaron,
That’s a good temp solution but you’ll lose all those changes when you update WordPress next time. We will add an option to the menu alignment in the next Parabola update to take care of that.
Until then, if you don’t want to edit any code you could just create a new menu with the menu items order reversed.
Good luck!

With help from Brian (Supertech from Bluehost.com) we were able to solve the settings and category problems at the same time. We created a test folder in a different c-panel location from the wp-contents folder where my site is located. We installed a new copy of WordPress (in case the old was corrupted) then uploaded in new copy of Parabola. We created a dummy post, page and category. Then we checked to see if they displayed properly–which they did. Finally, we copied the contents of the Parabola folder from the tested site into the original site Parabola folder, replacing the corrupted contents. Apparently, Parabola’s settings are stored in the database, because all my original setting were preserved when the corrupted files were replaced. I hope this is a helpful repair option even though we still don’t know what files were corrupted. We do know, however, that the problem occurred after we installed the wooCommerce plugin.

The settings for Parabola are somehow have become locked and my categories will no longer display post excerpts form the menu. It’s a very stubborn problem, even restoring from backup doesn’t help. Any ideas

You can traslate the complete Theme, or just the words you need editing the languages files you’ll find on /public_html/wp-content/themes/parabola/languages
The easyest way is using PoEdit.
Which language do you need to translate to?July 16th, 2014 at 16:31 #26156In reply to: WooCommerce Bug

Hi ZED, no. What it was was an incompability with woo-commerce and parabola.
I went to the FAQ that cryoutcreations has, and was able to find a child theme, badabing my problem was solved.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindTempera no longer has a pagination on the presentation page (as that was broken); we’ve replaced it with a “read more” button which loads another set (page) of posts below.
Parabola does not have a pagination on the presentation page (yet).

Not sure what you mean by “one thread”, but you can adjust the amount of posts in Appearance >> Parabola Settings >> Presentation Page >> Show Post on Presentation Page.
Or, if you are looking for XXX amount of characters to be shown in the post, Post Excerpt Settings >> Number of words for post excerpts

The theme’s slider is only part of the presentation page and cannot be used anywhere else. There are plugins out there which allow you to create sliders on your pages.
Columns can not be used on the same page as the slider. You can however pick your default column in Appearance >> Parabola Settings >> Layout Settings >> Main Layout
Alternatively, you can choose which columns you want on any specific page in Page Attributes / TemplateJuly 3rd, 2014 at 21:33 #25988In reply to: Featured images on homepage and post

Bear with me, I did just now locate your explanation that Feature Images displays on excerpts only and not on full posts. Too bad. Can you please let me know if you add full posts as a feature so I can switch back to Parabola? It’s the only thing holding me back from using the terrific theme.
Thanks!

Walt
Appearance >> Parabola settings >> layout settings >> content/sidebar width, that will allow you to adjust the static width on for the website and automagically make the slider bigger, but if you don’t have the pictures in the slider big enough to fit, they will become distorted.

No I am no designer (and I am not doing anything for money) just would have been interested to know what happens after donating the 25$. Is there a plugin to download or anything like that?
But it’s ok if there is no info on this then just have to look for an other theme. There are plenty of them but not many are as good as Tempera and Parabola.June 2nd, 2014 at 16:18 #25628In reply to: Parabola header

To change the bg color settings, strangely enough it’s actually in the color settings.
Appearance >> Parabola settings >> Color settings >> Site title > BackgroundJust take out the white color and that will solve your second question as well.

Okay, so I was just a little slow to notice the toggles in the Parabola settings for turning off display of those slider controls.
Carry on. Nothing more to see here 🙂

Hi,
I’m having the same problem as Ian — I added the Google Analytics code to each page of the site (Parabola) but the site is not recognized by GA (a GA account was properly set up first). So then I also added the code to the header.php right before the last </head> but still not recognized by GA.
Any help you can provide is appreciated!
