    All 3 of these templates are controlled in the same sections. Appearance >> Parabola/Tempera/Mantra Settings >> Presentation Page

    Or you could very easily try reading the FAQ…

    I read in matra that you can solve this issue by the Mantra child theme. Can I do the same with Parabola> Can I add Matra child theme to parabola main theme to add an extra social icon? than kyou

    Wow….it’s like you didn’t even try to look for it and you’re expecting the information to be spoon fed to you.

    Parabola Settings –> Color Settings –> Sidebar Widgets

    Walt

    Just tried it on one of my Tempera sites and it didn’t work either. That’s odd that they allow it in Parabola but not in Tempera…

    The setting that controls those buttons is under Color Settings –> Main Menu –> The first color after Menu. It will however change the color of your navigation bar as well, so it does not strictly control just the Continue Reading box.

    Thank you for the info on the magazine layout too! 🙂

    You could always increase the width of your slider so it doesn’t look so cramped and everything will fit…

    As for wanting the text at the bottom of the image, switch to Parabola if you want that feature.

    Hi sly

    Do you mean the little triangle accents in the bottom right corners? As these can be disabled within Parabola Graphics Settings. Otherwise Im not sure what you mean by menu shadow.

    I hope this helps

    Hi, Jeannie,

    I installed the original Parabola theme before installing the child theme, which inherited all the Parabola settings.

    When it comes to updating the child theme, my server won’t let me uodate it from the WP admin panel, so I have to switch to the parent Parabola theme, delete the archives for the previous version of the child theme, install the new version of the child theme and activate it. It takes no more than two minutes, and the theme is worth it from my point of view.

    Jorge, did you install the regular Parabola theme first before using the child theme, or did you install the child theme initially? I am trying to figure out how to update an existing Parabola site to use WooCommerce and would be grateful to have the benefit of your experience. (If I install the child theme now, do I need to re-set everything or will it inherit all the settings from the parent theme?)

    Ah, one should always read the FAQ ( http://www.cryoutcreations.eu/parabola/parabola-faqs ) before asking – it’s there.

    Create a page and assign the page template “Blog template (Posts page)”.

    Hi,
    Has a solution been found for this?
    I have three installations of parabola working next to each other on one site.
    Two work:
    http://www.7landhand.com/
    http://www.7landhand.com/?page_id=11
    …but this one doesn’t :
    http://7landhand.com/thirst-for-knowledge/

    It’s hard to know what I did differently?
    Cheers,
    David

    It doesn’t work for me, either. Using Parabola and viewing on an iPhone, the button is visible but activating it does nothing at all.

    Hi Zierleisten,

    I have used Tempra a couple of time’s, albeit for personal projects, from cryoutcreations and found it to be very good.

    However, I had the exact same issue when using Static Webpages, this is how I fixed mine for Tempra, Parabola may be similar…

    Find and edit content-page.php, it is in the themes/tempra/content/ folder.

    At this point, I would suggest you take a backup of content-page.php before editing, and ideally you should be applying this on a child theme, rather than the parent as it may disappear after any theme updates.

    Find a line that reads <?php the_content(); ?>

    Either before or after this, its down to your preference, add the following…

    printf( __( ‘<span class=”sep”>Posted on </span><time class=”entry-date updated” datetime=”%3$s” pubdate>%4$s</time><span class=”by-author”> <span class=”sep”> by </span> <span class=”author vcard”>%7$s</span></span>’, ‘tempra’ ),
    esc_url( get_permalink() ),
    esc_attr( get_the_time() ),
    esc_attr( get_the_date( ‘c’ ) ),
    esc_html( get_the_date() ),
    esc_url( get_author_posts_url( get_the_author_meta( ‘ID’ ) ) ),
    esc_attr( sprintf( __( ‘View all posts by %s’, ‘tempra’ ), get_the_author() ) ),
    get_the_author()
    );
    ?>

    You may need to change the reference ‘Tempra’ to ‘Parabola’, there are only two.

    This will add the ‘updated’ and ‘author’ fields missing.

    Test again with Webmaster Tools, all should be good now.

    Hope this gets you going.

    Hi Jessica

    I am also using the Parabola, but I do not know how to add the button of “More Posts” at the bottom of the page.

    Could you mind teaching me ? 🙂

    I’ve tried it and it works fine for me…

    I have just one feature request: I have activated the breadcrumbs in the Parabola settings, and they work for the posts and pages, but not for the products. Can you make the breadcrumbs work also in the shop parte in future updates? That would make this theme simply perfect.

    So, I have a workaround that restored the headlines in most browsers: Go to Parabola Settings — Post Information Settings. HIDE Categories. Refresh screen, and the titles will reappear on the presentation pate. (At first I also hid tags, but I’ve restored them and all is still fine.) While I’d prefer to have the categories be visible, I’m good with this until developers fix whatever is causing the problem.

    Hi Garry, it would have been good to state that the question you asked has been Solved. Parabola allows you to add background image to your site, BUT, you got your image to fill the whole page if stated here will be beneficial to future questions related to that.
    Thanks.

    Hi Rob,
    Please go to Parabola settings/ header settings and under that you will have header height. Try adjusting the height out there and this might help you.

    Hi Nancy,
    I can only help you on your 2nd question as I did face the same situation.
    Please go to parabola settings/presentation page and then you can adjust the height of the slider. Mine worked for 250 after a few trials (based on the image height I guess).
    I hope this helps.
    Regards

    Hi Ari

    As far as I recall I think I saw that there are plans to introduce different Colour Schemes (as per Parabola theme) when they reach version 1.

    Hope this helps

    Hi, Folks. I have a similar problem with the Parabola theme. It suddenly just went unresponsive. I posted my topic in the Parabola forum over a week ago, but with no response, so I will try here.
    The responsiveness feature has always worked fine as tested in my Kindle’s Silk browser and a colleague’s Android phone. Responsiveness survived my recent update to WordPress 3.8.1, as well.
    I had not made any significant changes to the site since it was responsive, except for disabling some little used plugins, and reassembling a few more posts.
    I tested it here: (Peter, if you don’t have a mobile device for testing, try this) http://www.mobilephoneemulator.com/ in some emulated browsers. It was not responsive in any of these simulations.
    WHAT I HAVE DONE TO TROUBLESHOOT:
    I ran through Zed’s troubleshooter as a guide http://www.cryoutcreations.eu/forums/t/minimal-step-by-step-tutorial-for-debugging-bugsissuesincompatibilities
    And took the following steps:
    Made sure responsiveness is enabled (it is)
    Updated to the latest version of Parabola v1.3.3
    Updated all plugins
    Disabled all plugins (no change)
    Reenabled plugins
    Switched to 2014 theme (still unresponsive)&
    Tested again at : http://www.mobilephoneemulator.com/
    Switched back to Parabola
    I don’t think I have any caching plugins to deal with.
    I tried a debugging plugin which errors indicated that I need to update php from 5.2-5.3, and that one of my plugins has an undefined variable for the install date. But these errors were likely present when responsiveness was working.

    None of this made any difference, except that disabling the plugins and switching themes broke the website. The majority of my theme customizations are focused on replacing the topmenus with side menus, and adding some sliders for photos in order to replicate the look of the original Joomla website http://www.seahec.org (I converted from Joomla to WP)

    So, having exhausted those steps, what might be the next steps? I would appreciate any guidance people could offer.
    Olivia, your comment sounds intriguing:
    “my host automatically redirects visitors using mobile devices to a nonexistent mobile site. I made it so the redirect wouldn’t happen again, and now it looks great!”

    How did you find that out and accomplish fixing the redirect? If I knew what to do, I would look into your suggestion.

    Thank you.

    Hi

    For the slider border you can do this within Parabola Settings>Color Settings>Presentation Page and it’s the second box in.
    For the column image borders you need to add the code below into the custom CSS area under Misc. Settings.

    .column-image {
    background-color: #000000;
    }

    I hope this helps

    Jim…

    @Jim:
    You wrote:
    “you could create an image to say something like “Read latest posts” and then set that image to link to you blog”.

    I’m using Parabola Presentation Page as landing page and under “Read Setup” on WordPress the Home page shown as Last Posts. (I tried to change to static page but Presentation page disappear). Is it possible to set Presentation Page as static? I don’t think so.

    So now I don’t understand which is the link to my blog because I can’t set a page to it (You can’t select any pages if “start page shown” is set to “Latest Posts”.
    I would to link an image on the column to blog (because in there I’ll put news) but I miss the link (it seems that my blog IS the presentation page, or not?).
    Thanks in advance, sorry but english is not my language
    Ciao
    J
