In reply to: How to remove border around an image
Jim
Hi
I think you can do this by editing the page the image is on, selecting the image and then clicking on the edit image icon in the corner, then in the pop up box select advanced settings at the top, then put 0 in the border field, after this click in the styles field above which should show “border: 0px none;”. Then if you save the page hopefully the border is removed for that particular image. Alternatively if you don’t want borders on any images, this can be done via Parabola Settings then Graphics Settings.
I hope this helps

I am using Parabola. Is there css that can be added so that the title is suppressed but the description is displayed?
What I want to suppress is “Category Archives: Category-Name”.

Hi – just checking to see if there is a resolution for the issue below:
I am have been trying to update the sliders, but after selecting a photo to upload, the field is empty and nothing shows up. It looks like the photo uploads to Media successfully, but is unable to be selected as a slide after repeated attempts. I have also restarted my browser but get the same results. I noticed an update to Parabola regarding the Presentation page and wondered if that has anything to do with it.

Hi, I have the same problem, but I have no plugins installed. I set up WordPress in my hosting, installed Parabola and got that message before doing anything.

Hi Kelly
From purely a lay mans point of view, I would suspect this to be an issue with the SEO plug in rather than the Parabola theme, it might be worth deactivating the SEO plug-in and sending the message to the creators of the plug-in.
I hope this helps

Jim
Hi Brian
I just did some further testing, I created a page with an h1,h2, h3 tags etc and published it. I then used Firebug to inspect each element. For the h1 tag I got the following:
#content .entry-content h1 {
font-size: 48px;
}so I copied this code and pasted it into the custom CSS area within Parabola and saved, and changed the font size to 12px.
Went back and refreshed the published page and the font size had changed to 12px
As a double check I did try the h6 tag and changed that from 18px to 48px and that worked too, so it does appear to be the right area.
I hope that helps.

Hi Brian
I think the page/post title can be set within Parabola Text Settings and suspect below is the area of the stylesheet you may be seeking:
#content .entry-content h1 { font-size: 22px; }
#content .entry-content h2 { font-size: 28px; }
#content .entry-content h3 { font-size: 24px; }
#content .entry-content h4 { font-size: 20px; }
#content .entry-content h5 { font-size: 16px; }
#content .entry-content h6 { font-size: 12px; }I hope this helps

Jim
Hi Jane
I think you can do this by going to Parabola settings for the Presentation Page then you need to go to the area call Presentation Page Columns, here there is a text box called “Read more text:” and if you blank that field the link doesn’t show. Also I think it wouldn’t show if you remove the links within each of the columns.
I can’t help with the How to.. section I’m afraid, as I’m just a humble user! 🙂I hope this helps..

Jim
Hi Liz
If you are going to look for another theme, and rather than just doing a reset it might be worth first trying an un-install then a re-install of Parabola as I’ve not seen anyone have similar issues via this forum. If you do this then as I suggested above Export and Import your settings first.
Also have you tried using a different browser?Good luck

Jim
Hi Liz
Being just a humble Parabola user, I’m afraid I am as stumped as you are. I would think that resetting to default will indeed set everything back to square one. If you did go down that road I’d suggest using the Export Theme Option first and then re import them after, which should at least retain your slides etc. Only other thing I can suggest is perhaps clearing your browsers cache, as that’s what I tend to get told a lot :-).
Sounds like you probably may need someone from Cryout Creations to give further advice.
Sorry I can’t be of more help.Jim…
October 20th, 2013 at 21:49 #13120In reply to: images in presentation page-resizing
Jim
Hi Terri
I had similar issue initially, then I got the slider dimensions from the Parabola Presentation page settings (i.e. 1050 wide x 350 tall) then resized and cropped my images to this aspect ratio, so the main portion of the picture was visible.
If you are familiar with graphics editors then I created a new image to the right dimensions, as the template, then pasted the images I wanted in as layers and resized them as I needed and saved each one. Once saved I reloaded them into the image library and set the links per slide.I hope this makes sense and helps…

Cryout Creations mastermindParabola’s responsiveness is triggered under 800px width (it’s meant for small devices, not computers where scrolling shouldn’t be an issue)

Hi Liz
The following custom CSS should remove the border (at least top and both sides) from your column images on the Presentation page. Just copy the code and paste it into your custom CSS area under the Parabola Miscellaneous Settings and save.
.column-image {
-moz-box-sizing: border-box;
padding: 0 ;
position: relative;
}I hope this does the trick!

Jim
Hi Liz
Sorry I think I fed you some wrong information. The easiest thing to do with the slider border is to set its colour to transparent. You can do this within Parabola Settings > Color Settings > Presentation Page the just leave the field for Slider Border Color empty. I’ll do some more research and get back to you about the column borders.
I hope this helps

October 10th, 2013 at 13:31 #12902In reply to: Change size and font for presentation page "titles"
Jim
Hi Val
I just went and grabbed the CSS within that element and changed things like font size, colour, font family etc. then saved it in the customCSS area within Parabola.
Ended up with something like this in the custom CSS area.
#front-text1 h1, #front-text2 h1 {
clear: both;
color: #FFF5EE;
display: block;
float: none;
font-family: marck script;
font-size: 32px;
line-height: 32px;
margin: 35px auto;
text-align: center;
text-shadow: 0 1px 2px #000000;
}It does change the text to the same for both the top and bottom titles so you may need to investigate that further.
I hope this helps…
