    Thank you very much. I did a plugin update for jetpack and I think the mobile theme was enabled.
    I unchecked and this got the Temepra mobile theme back, but it’s now displaying a Not found message?
    Why is this and how do I fix it. The site looks fine on laptops and desktops.

    Thank you for your time.

    Found the issue! In my child theme in the header.php the Facebook Page Plugin script I had to move one line further down, behind <?php cryout_body_hook(); ?>. Really glad I found it.

    Excuse the bug report – it clearly is not a bug, but simply my bad coding.

    Thanks Zed, I had found out myself that is the reason they are shown on the homepage. I thought I would automatically see the sticky posts but I had to enable posts on the homepage first. That was in the beginning not clear to me. Thanks for your reply!

    ok i found the problem. Not in tempera.

    I don’t mean to be rude, but that blue overlay on the headers is absolutely ridiculous. I thought I had finally found a theme I could build upon, but now I’m stuck with every header image I post turning blue after one second.

    My question is this…

    Why in hell wouldn’t you include the option to DISABLE this feature in the FIRST RELEASE of your theme???

    Why do you think “everybody” who uses this theme wants their header pic to turn blue??? I simply do not understand your logic.

    Now I have to start searching all over again for yet another theme. I wish someone would just make ONE theme that is LOGICALLY CONSTRUCTED.

    In reply to: Replace motorbike

    I figured it had to be easier than this, so I spent some time looking through the theme file structure, which led to this answer:
    1. in the theme images, the bike image is in the static image folder. My first thought was just to replace this with my own ‘bike’ image. But eventually, I found you can
    2. Go to Landing page > Slider > Slider image > Change file. That allows you to select a new front page image.

    This is not at all obvious, since after all, the image is not sliding. But there is a fairly cryptic note that says ” Slider Image The default image can be replaced by setting a new static image.” So there is a built-in method for this – it’s just hidden and not at all intuitive. I wish I’d found this before moving on to another theme. Maybe I’ll use Septera for something else.

    The requested URL /shop/ was not found on this server.

    In fact it appears there’s no site configured on that domain.

    My pages are not showing up, but only pages on the presentation page (my 2 main pages), all other pages are workign. When clicking the link they show “Not Found” and it is a blank page. This is with the Mantra theme. Is this getting corrected as well?

    Hi @KenMacauley I went to your site and it looks like you have solved the issue. I am still having problems with menu overlap when the website is not full screen and was curious to see if anyone else has found a solution for that. Right now if screen is not full screen it is virtually useless.

    Hi sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I had some stuff happening here.

    In any event, I did install the plugin you suggest for re-generating thumbnails in my test site. http://bassic-sax.com/ Unfortunately there was no change. The old images are still clear, while the new ones I uploaded today are blurry. Regeneration did not help the situation.

    Just wondering, could this be a php issue? I ask b/c I’m having an issue with an analytics plugin, and I found out my GD server is running an out-dated version of php (5.4)

    Update: I have found a way to edit the menu name so it is shorter but the page retains its full name. This has solved the problem for now, but if I add anything else to the menu, it will jump down onto another line again.

    Thanks! found that, but it does not apply to POST titles…..and it won’t let me put pages in columns on the presentation page (just posts). I have quite the conundrum. Thank you anyway!! I appreciate you taking the time to answer.

    To be fair, I have not found a print button plugin that looks good and works properly!
    The Tempera pages printout is pretty good, but what would be an awesome feature is a print template that only includes the page content, but not the sidebar content. Sorry to hijack.

    Hello,

    The problem was seen even with the cache plugin disabled so the minify thing is not the case.
    Still I do not understand one thing: I use to show the post list as excerpt and limited it to 10 words. Why does the page tries to show/load some widgets at the end of the post which should not be visible in the excerpt?

    The most stupid and easiest solution I found was to add a google maps widget on the left side panel. This caused the google API to be loaded everywhere including the home page. I made some arrangements to the widget so that it is not visible.

    I do not know how to load the google API other way.

    1) I found the answer to this question on another site. It confirmed 5 social accounts is all that the Nirvana theme supports. That’s all I was asking and I’m confused as to why you couldn’t just tell me that.
    2) I have emailed Jetpack tech support and they can’t help as they say the social icons aren’t images but “Genericon” font. I have no clue what that is. I have checked the Jetpack forum and there is nothing there about this but I will post my own support request there.
    3) OK, thanks. That’s what I was afraid of.

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    I finally found the root cause for the problem. I use Google Maps plugin to display routes in some of my posts. When there is a list of posts the following error is generated which causes the html code to stop:

    Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘libraries’ of undefined
    at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (js-map.min.js?ver=1.7.2:1)
    at i (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)
    at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)
    at Function.ready (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)
    at HTMLDocument.K (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)

    I guess something does not wait for google visualization to finish loading its libraries before it uses them. Any ideas how to fix this…?

    Hello Zed,

    I come back again to my “Audio Icon” problem. In the meanwhile I pleased also a colleague of mine, who is programmer, to also check the matter. She found out that the audio icon indeed is not defined in your “fontfaces.css”. All other icons are defined, like e.g. “video-icon” in this way:
    .icon-video:before { content: “\e953”; }

    But a code like
    .icon-audio:before { content: “\????”; }
    is missing.

    I tried to add this one:
    .icon-audio:before { content: “\e950”; }

    … but it also does not work and would be overwritten with an update of your theme anyway.

    Please could you check this case again? I still have deactivated my CSS-minification Plugin (I just reactivated the Social-Icon-Plugin, but this has no influence on the current problem most probably anyway.

    Thank you very much in advance 🙂

    I managed to do that using custom template. Here’s the code:

    <?php
    /**
     * Template Name: Blog
     *
     * A custom page template for showing posts.
     *
     * The "Template Name:" bit above allows this to be selectable
     * from a dropdown menu on the edit page screen.
     *
     * @link https://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Hierarchy
     *
     * @package Fluida
     *
     */

    get_header(); ?>

    	<div id="container" class="<?php echo fluida_get_layout_class(); ?>">
    		<main id="main" role="main" class="main">
    			<?php cryout_before_content_hook(); ?>

    			<?php
    				$paged = ( get_query_var( 'paged' ) ) ? get_query_var( 'paged' ) : 1;
    				$the_query = new WP_Query( 'post_status=publish&orderby=date&order=desc&posts_per_page=' . get_option( 'posts_per_page' ) . '&paged=' . $paged );
    			 ?>

    			<?php if ( $the_query->have_posts() ) : ?>

    				<div id="content-masonry" <?php cryout_schema_microdata( 'blog' ); ?>>
    					<?php
    					while ( $the_query->have_posts() ) : $the_query->the_post();
    					/*
    					 * Include the Post-Format-specific template for the content.
    					 * If you want to override this in a child theme, then include a file
    					 * called content-___.php (where ___ is the Post Format name) and that will be used instead.
    					 */
    					get_template_part( 'content/content', get_post_format() );
    					endwhile;
    					?>
    				</div><!--content-masonry-->
    				<?php fluida_pagination();

    			// If no content, include the "No posts found" template.
    			else :
    				get_template_part( 'content/content', 'notfound' );
    			endif;

    			cryout_after_content_hook(); ?>
    		</main><!-- #main -->

    		<?php fluida_get_sidebar(); ?>

    FOUND IT: Tempera Settings -> GRAPHICS SETTINGS -> SEARCH BAR LOCATIONS – uncheck whatever checkboxes you don’t want.

    I’d prefer it if template updates did not make changes like that. Cost me half an hour.

    In reply to: Missing text in slider

    Thank you for your answer Zed.

    I found out friday night what was the origin of the problem.

    It’s the “WP-Properties” addon that overwrite the css of a part of the frontpage, so it makes disapear this text. I totaly forgot to disable this one when I was trying your troubleshooting guide 😐

    As i were away for the weekend, i couldn’t send a message saying that problem is now partially solved (in fact, when i “deactivate” (or more precisely, when i change some stuff on the presentation) the default WP-Properties’ css, there is now another problem, but only in “properties”, so i’m working on it).

    In reply to: Presentation Slider

    Hi Zed,

    I am a big fan of parabola. and tempera. I just upgraded to the latest WP install WordPress 4.6.1 and found that the presentation slider doesn’t work at http://www.doubleconnect.net/. There is a white space where the slides were and the revolving circle rolling in the middle of it.

    I contacted a techie at Bluehost and he could not what the problem was. We disabled the 4 plug-ins but that didn’t affect things.

    Do you have any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

    thanks,
    mark

    Thank you so much for your swift and complete reply!

    Yesterday we found another work around using an optimizer plugin which enabled us to change the behavior of WordPress with JavaScript, so it worked again. We will try your workaround too, since the less plugins needed the better.

    The plugin we used it called ‘autoptimize’.

    We have also changed some of the code to change behaviour with images on the frontpage etc, is this something you would like us to share with other users here?

    I found it! There was a folder called mobile in my WordPress directory. Maybe my host created it. Anyway, I renamed it and all is well. Not a theme issue after all. Thanks

    #38398

    Following up on my own post. After more searching of this Forum I eventually found what I think is the answer. Our site is using the header background image, set by WordPress -> Appearance -> Header (I had not appreciated that before). This seems to resolve my problem, so that I no longer need an edited header.php file in the mantra-child directory.
    Apologies for the false alarm.

    WooCommerce looks for the presence of a specific line of code in the theme, otherwise it displays that message.
    We have not added that line of code in the theme as we have not tested WooCommerce compatibility in depth – as such, WooCommerce’s presence in Fluida’s features on our site is by error (for now).

    Did you use Fluida with WooCommerce? Have you found any issues with functionality / layout / styling?

    Fluida doesn’t (yet) include a presentation page like our other themes, so the Blog template does not have a usage scenario (if you need a different page to display your blog while assigning a static page as the homepage, that can be done with WordPress’ Reading options).

    We were also asked to remove this template during the review because the reviewer found no logic for it.
