Has anyone found a solution available for this problem?
I have the same problem and do not know how to fix it.June 28th, 2016 at 11:33 #37438In reply to: Excerpt by characters on homepage?

@Lanie
Yes i had found that option but it is for number of words, i was looking for number of characters since if you have a post with a lot of long words it will show up longer than the other 2 posts in the featured snipet. but i’ll figure it out with writing intro’s.
As for the other problem, its no longer there but still showing the read more, it could have something to do with the fact the post has been imported from another site. i think it will sort itself out once i finish the layout and move to the live site!

Thank you! Actually just found that and was coming here to update my question. Good to know about the shortcode. That might help them in the future to not have to mess with the guts.

I have found the solution. You have to edit frontpage.php. Search for “readmore” and then edit the text below so the href contains the url you want. Only edit the text in the first set of < > i.e. <?php echo esc_url($slide[‘link’]) ?><div class=”readmore”>
<?php echo esc_attr($nirvana_slidereadmore) ?> <i class=”column-arrow”></i>Edited by Zed: This is not the solution.

Hello,
although I remember that I had earlier noticed the checkbox “Keep header image aspect ratio”, I can not find it now. No idea, why!
But I found the following checkbox:
Design -> Nirvana Settings -> Kopfzeile (header) -> Kopfzeilenbild (header photo) -> Bild (photo) responsive
With “yes” my header photo including the face is not PERFECTThanks

I too have the same issue as my Nirvana settings are no longer available. Now, I lost these settings on one of my other websites and found the updated versions of WordPress and Nirvana are not compatible. So I made every effort not to update my Nirvana version. Recently I tried to access the settings and found my most used site as come across the same issue. Do you have a simple fix for this issue?
Thanks you,

Perfect, found the glitch. Thanks so much Zed – I just uninstalled the plugin and will find another.

Oh! I just found that feature and it’s the “Responsiveness” feature. Now perhaps we would like to make the featured image size a bit smaller in general (not height really) is that something on our end that we need to fix when uploading the featured image or how does that work?

Found now that if I repeat the process enough times to cycle through all the Dashboard notices, the layout section finally appears. Never had this issue before, though.

Found it! It doesn’t go in a php file, but it goes in “Custom CSS” in the Tempera Settings page, under Miscellaneous Settings. I was looking through the theme files looking for a place to put the code, and eventually wound up looking in the style.css file and the note near the top of the file gave me a clue.

Very much liked the Parabola template. Made a start but found a problem – see earlier posts. Flagged the problem up on the forum but no response, so decided to sign up for the $25 contribution to get Premium Support. Sent the query to Premium Support who suggested a possible solution which I immediately tried but sadly, it didn’t work, so I replied a few minutes after the initial email from Premium Support explaining it hadn’t resolved things and I attached screen shots showing that I’d carried out the suggestions but to no avail. Since then, a period of over 36 hours, I’ve heard nothing.
In many ways, it is good to discover early that this would be a bad choice for me as a template for my business as I can’t be going days without resolving issues. So, despite how much I liked the template and despite the modest $25 investment, I’ll be using a template from elsewhere. It seems many others are also unable to get a response which is a real shame.

Hi,
the menu color issue is present in Nirvana demo installation too. The issue is related to Microsoft Edge in Windows 10. If you don’t hover slowly on the main menu the fade does not complete and the original color is not restored, so the menu item often is left dark gray.
I’ve found a similar issue in Parabola demo using Edge, IE works fine.
I’m noticing a growing number of visitors using MS Edge on my web sites, this could be a relevant issue in you great themes.November 16th, 2015 at 02:17 #34180In reply to: translate read more

Further testing: I found version 2.3.4 on my local system, and used that on a test site. (The test site was running 2.4.1.1, and verified that the problem occurs on that version.)
Switching the theme to version 2.3.4, then creating a new page, adding media, verifying that the HREF code was there, then publishing, and the HREF code is still there.
If I do the same process with 2.4.1.1 (latest), the HREF disappears on Publish.
I can test with versions prior to 2.4.1.1 (I think that 2.4.0 did not have the problem), but can’t find the link to version 2.4.0.
Thanks for looking into this…..it is putting a serious crimp on my site, so much so, that I may need to find a different theme; or move to a prior version (if I can find a prior version somewhere).

I could solve the Problem with the help of another user. Three plugins caused the additional bullets: Huge IT Image Gallery, Huge IT Portfolio Gallery, Huge IT Slider. These are not compatible with nivarna theme. So I have tried to disable each one cheking after if the problem was still there. I found a compareable slider with NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati.
Now everything works great. 🙂August 4th, 2015 at 15:56 #32452In reply to: Theme crashed with update

I am going to play devils advocate for a second. Sorry, Zed, I am not speaking for you, but I am going to try to help.
First the solution, or how I resolved the parse error.
Follow the file path folks. Sue F has it sitting right there(Sue I would not be so quick to show complete file path with the your name in it. Start at public html if you have to and then paste).
Go to your server files, however you typically access them, and follow the file path. Find line 99. That is the issue, and there is a solution in the other thread marked solved. I have not tried that as of yet, so not sure if it will work. If it does not, then I suppose I will fix it. How I will fix it? I have no idea because, I have really very limited coding skills. Nor do I really understand how all of this crazy internet stuff works. But I do know how to copy and paste into google. I may have to modify and change my search but somewhere, somehow, google knows.What I did to fix it was delete line 99. This gave me access to my admin, although not at first. Not sure why, but it did not, and I just kept trying things. Crazy things I would have been scared to try before. This is the key to all of this, I did this because I know I have a backup. If you do not have backups then not sure what to tell you, except you have to create backups. I use updraft, and used it for the first time to restore my website after this. This means I learned something, when your site breaks turn it to a positive. I did have to gain access to admin, which I said was done through trial and error. I, by no means am suggesting you go changing all your files as if you know what you are doing, but look carefully for the answer. It is there and make the changes. Of course you can contact your host, and they can probably help as well.
See this is the thing, and once again, I am not speaking for Zed. I am doing this because I asked a really dumb question of a theme developer once. No this is not a dumb question at all, website’s are broken and that is not cool. See he never answered and I was angry, well a little while later, I just happened to find the answer, and boy did I feel dumb. Now I understood why this developer did not take the time out of his really busy schedule, writing all this insane code so we can use his stuff. Because it was up to me to figure that out. Sure we have to have them fix things, this is only natural. Zed posted in the other thread that it was related to a server issue. We can all meet at some coffee shop and discuss how that should not happen, but you know what it did. It is not up to them to hold our hand in every time there is a problem. Things just happen folks, things that are out of their control. My son’s phone had to be reset during moblegeddon, why? Because google screwed up. Do you know how smart those people are? Code breaks things, it just happens.
If you are going to have a website then, you must accept the fact that with great power comes great responsibility. Google it folks, duck duck go it even. Somewhere there are ways to figure out the answers, that we are responsible for.
I do not know what Zed thinks, but I am guessing he truly cares about his craft and he does all he can to help us. There are just some things he cannot do, because if he did then we would not be living with Nirvana
Look on the bright side young padawan, you found out what order 66 meant a few years ago. Now today you will learn what line 99 means. FYI, there are a gazillion line 99’s out there, we must maintain our focus, as any jedi would.
May the Force be with you
July 9th, 2015 at 05:52 #32284In reply to: Slider Issues- Not Showing Up
Nancy Gargan
So I have an update. I kept playing trying to do anything to get sliders to work. I think I may have found the problem. On the presentation page I had set the ‘show posts on presentation page’ to 10 and when I added my posts it made my total number of posts more then 10. When I changed this to 14 wahlaaa! the sliders and posts show up. I did notice when it was not working at the bottom of the posts was a page 1 page 2 block set. When I tried clicking on them yesterday it went nowhere. Today with the higher post number it is gone.
So I think my question for help now revolves around “Why will it not just use the 10 most recent posts on the presentation page, and keep the slider intact and working? I don’t necessarily want every post I ever create on the presentation page.”
Thus, Can someone please offer some advice and help I would greatly appreciate it?
Thanks!July 3rd, 2015 at 22:32 #32258In reply to: Nirvana mobile CSS skipping the 1280px step

Sorry if this is a duplicate post. I just tried adding to my most from earlier and I think the forums choked on it, which is good because i royally botched the code blocks. Here it is again, and if this one sticks and I botch them again, i apologize.
As a quick follow up, i think i found the problem. You do not need to be calling the @media for all three of the tests. I think (and you should do your own research as well) that by doing so you have malformed the the OR list.
Right now you have this written:
@media (max-width: 1280px) and (min-resolution: 1ddpx), @media (max-width: 1280px) and (min-resolution: 96dpi), @media (max-width: 1280px) and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ration: 1) {
And I think the proper way to form the intended query is like this:
@media (max-width: 1280px) and (min-resolution: 1ddpx), (max-width: 1280px) and (min-resolution: 96dpi), (max-width: 1280px) and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 1) {
I hope this helps

Charlotte
Hey guys,
I have been trying to fix this on my site forever and a day! The only solution I found was to:Go to to style-mobile.css and change the position of the header widget area from relative to absolute (line 25)
On the same line, change where is says left:0 to left:10
Then go into the header widgets section in your wordpress admin and add:
style=”max-width:100%”
inside the tags of any images you have placed there.I’m sure there is a more elegant solution, but this was the only thing that worked for me! I also suspect that this method only works for a text widget!
As a side note, another issue I had with the header was that it was not re-sizing to the correct height. To fix this, go to line 22 of style.mobile.css and add height:100%; to the #bg_img part.

Spot on!
Thanks a lot ZED! YES it fixed the issue, and I found another way, before your reply, thought to share….I was able to fix the issue by adding below code to function.php of tempera theme
************************ code starts **************************************
function fix_woocommerce_single_product_image_html($html) { $regexp = "<a\s[^>]*href=(\"??)([^\" >]*?)\\1[^>]*>(.*)<\/a>"; preg_match_all("/$regexp/siU", $html, $matches, PREG_SET_ORDER); $image_link = $matches[0][2]; $image_title = esc_attr( get_the_title( get_post_thumbnail_id() ) ); $image_caption = get_post( get_post_thumbnail_id() )->post_excerpt; $image = '<img src="' . $image_link . '" alt="' . $image_caption . '" /></img>'; $str = '<a href=" ' . $image_link . ' " title="' . $image_caption . '">' . $image . '</a>'; return $str; } add_filter('woocommerce_single_product_image_html', 'fix_woocommerce_single_product_image_html', 99, 1); // single image add_filter('woocommerce_single_product_image_thumbnail_html', 'fix_woocommerce_single_product_image_html', 99, 1); // thumbnails
************************ code ends **************************************
I hope it will help to someone who is facing similar issue.

Zed. Reason: corrected code display
June 12th, 2015 at 22:49 #32138David Calderwood
I too found that there is an error in the mobile CSS file that is causing the header logo to display incorrectly in mobile devices between 650px and 1350px media size. There is a missing media size, so I have created the code and added it to the Custom CSS and this corrects the logo size to display correctly on larger tablets and small laptops. This code is not perfect, but will get things displaying correctly. Add it to your Cusomt CSS in the Miscellanious tab:
/* FIX MOBILE LOGO SIZE*/ @media (max-width: 1650px) { #branding, .topmenu { width:100%; } #bg_image {width:100%;} #header-container > div {height:100%;} }

Cryout Creations mastermindHi and sorry for being late to announce this.
Shortcodes have long been denied from being included in themes, but we’ve managed to get away with it until now because we’ve had them in the theme since before this rule was implemented (and also did not update Mantra for a couple of months).
Unfortunately, we’ve had to remove the shortcodes for this new update to be accepted (which we wanted to release to fix outstanding issues before the Customizer rule will also become enforced).
However, we’ve moved shortcodes functionality in a separate plugin, which is found here
http://www.cryoutcreations.eu/cryout-shortcodesIf you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.
