Turning off shadow & scroll w/images

First off, I really REALLY like this theme and the people whom are behind this blog (as I am their “tech guy”) I think might really like it too.

I was wondering though, is there a setting somewhere, and if so, where might it be, to disable the scrolling effect and shadow effect when hovering over a post’s photo or the featured image on the home page?

Oh! I just found that feature and it’s the “Responsiveness” feature. Now perhaps we would like to make the featured image size a bit smaller in general (not height really) is that something on our end that we need to fix when uploading the featured image or how does that work?

Are you talking about Verbosa or Fluida?
Verbosa doesn’t have the scrolling effect on image hover.

Yes, I am referring to the Verbosa theme. When I enable “Cropped” under the “Featured Image Responsiveness” option and then proceed to hover over a featured image, the image does then appear with a shadow but also does a little scrolling effect to where it shows the upper half of the image.

However, if I do disable the responsiveness feature by choosing “Responsive”, it doesn’t do the hovering effect as described above.

The featured image though is not shown in its entirety, only about half of it is shown. I’d like to see if there is a way to fix it to where the entire featured image can be shown in its entirety width and height. Do you know of a recommended size for featured images so that way all of it can be seen in it’s respective space (featured image area)?

Here is a link to a screenshot of what I’m talking about. You see the image is getting cut off. We’d like to fix that if at all possible to where the entire image is shown.

The featured image height is configurable in the theme’s settings. Its viewable width is variable depending on screen size and up to the configured site width divided by the number of content columns minus the sidebar(s) width(s).
As a result, it would need to either get cropped or be displayed with spaces to the left/right (spaces that would vary through screen sizes). For cosmetic reasons we chose the cropping option.
