Hi Kay.
I have tried your recommendation by refreshing the website with ctrl+F5 or ctrl+R , even more I have simply refreshed with F5 on windows pc, and also by using the browser refresh button and all this for more then 10 times each, and still the images on the slideshow and all posts images are still broken and don’t show.
However, I have done also a big research into trying to downgrade to an earlier version of PARABOLA and seems that at least from the parabola team developers I have not yet received any help apart of suggesting to refresh my page which obviously turned to be of no help.
Anyway, refreshing my page was a primary instinct of mine when I saw this broken images straight after upgrading the parabola theme. But thank you anyway for your help and again I have to repeat that the problem with the new update of parabola v.1.4.0 is still not resolved!

Cryout Creations mastermindPlease search the plugin developer’s site for this type of info. It is not theme related. Anyway, as it states in the very link you gave us:
Open wp-content/themes/
/index.php
You may place it in archive.php, single.php, post.php or page.php also.
Find:
Add Anywhere Below It (The Place You Want The Views To Show):As always, we recommend the use of child themes for modifications like these.

Cryout Creations mastermindHi!
Although the Presentation Page was designed with 2 columns in mind, you can alter this by adding the following code to the Custom CSS area:
.magazine-layout #content article.post,
.magazine-layout.search #content article {
width:100%;
float:none;
}Good luck!

Hmm, new menu made it worse. I searched for the debug guide with no success. Can I just uninstall and reinstall Tempera? I only have a few pages and it would be easy to recreate them. Thanks

I had the same problem when moving my tempera-themed wp site from test.xyz.tld to xyz.tld, by replacing all URLs in the DB-dump. Intriguingly, when moving it from test.xyz.tld to prod.xyz.tld in the same way, it worked without problems. The reason is found on the codex-page posted by Zed above:
“Changing Your Domain Name and URLs
If you do a search and replace on your entire database to change the URLs, you can cause issues with data serialization, due to the fact that some themes and widgets store values with the length of your URL marked. When this changes, things break.”The post names three solutions. I used the second (search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases) which worked like a charm.

Yup, that’s my experience too. So at this point it does not seem to me to be possible to optimize the Presentation Page for SEO.
Hoping someone can correct this observation with a method to apply the Yoast SEO tools to the Presentation Page so that when it is enabled as a default index page for the site it is properly optimized for better ranking with the search engines.
Otherwise I will have to forego the ease of the presentation page and continue manually building a facsimile with Shortcodes Ultimate and Meta Slider plugins. This combination doesn’t work terribly but has some chronic glitches. And I hate being so dependent on plugins as eventually there are incidences of conflict or uneven updating. Currently at least, within the Tempera Theme Meta Slider does not behave well on smaller devices such as iPhones and tablets. (I use another theme on one of my sites with Meta Slider and it adjusts fine to screen sizes) Also Tempera and when working other page that has a Meta Slider in it, one loses sight of the top row of user interface when toggled in Page Preview. That is, the links, for example to get back to the dashboard or go back to editing the page are still there but invisible.

Breadcrumbs and page titles are 2 different things.
Breadcrumbs show a hierarchical structure leading up to the page.
Ex: yoursite.com >> Music >> RecordsThe Page titles just show which page you are on.
Ex: RecordsAs for strictly getting rid of page titles, That’s hard coded into wordpress and not a template related issue.

FYI, I received this response from Cryout Creations:
Michelle,
Hi.
“1. I know a post requires a feature image to show on the presentation page, but then it shows a tiny image in the full post. I need my images to be about 300 wide or tall (depending on orientation). ”
– The themes have options to control featured image size. But you’ll need to regenerate all images already uploaded and set on posts – there’s a plugin for this, I believe named “Images regenerate”.“2. When I additionally embed an image into the post (so it’s the right size in the full post), excerpts display two identical images. I can scrap excerpts on the Presentation Page, but a category search, for example, will still render a page of excerpts, which will look wonky.”
– This is not normal behaviour and we’d need to see a site to further investigate.-

Hi,
I found this template easy to get my initial changes made after installation. I do have to research how to get the Presentation page setup. Also, there are some minor things I need to get corrected. But all in all, I’m pleased with my efforts today. See them here: http://www.mickiesherwood.com/blog

Riana Zaayman
Hi. I can’t seem to remove the search bar and the “Nothing Found
Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.” text above it. I did go into the widget area and dragged it out of the footer area and I’ve selected “inactive widgets”. Now I have a widget that says “search” on the left hand side with the “add” button next to it, nothing that says “search” in any of the sidebars or footer areas on the right hand side of the page and at the bottom I have “Inactive Widgets” that says “search” below the text. By my website still displays it at the bottom of the page.I am not a programmer, nor do I understand it. But in my searches I came upon info, so I tried it out by applying my own logic to it :-). In the editor I went to style.css and replaced the word “block” with “none” in 4 places. That removed the search bar, but the text still remained. I found the text in archive.php, but I did not know how to delete it without messing up the template.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Dear Kay,

in the breadcrumb it shows as the link from home page.
should it not show home>our services>sampling research and development.and thanks again for all the help and support.

Hi
If I understand correctly you want to have bios of people with their photos beside the bios running down a page?
I’ve used a plugin called tablepress which would possibly do this for you. You can add a photo into one cell and some text into the cell next to it.
Though the settings within it need to be tweaked to get rid of things like table sorting and search boxes.I hope this helps

Hi folks,
I love this theme. I’m working on a new site using it, which uses widgets instead of posts on the presentation page. Under the Cryout widgets, there’s a search bar that gives the ‘Nothing Found’ message. I can’t seem to find where to remove the search box. Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

I’m using the Parabola theme- and it’s awesome! but i’m also searching for the “extra text” options. i want to add some custom css-styles (textshadow or textcolor) to it, cause it blends with my background image.
In the frontpage.php the “extra text” is refferred as “parabola_fronttext1-4” but i can’t find the style settings in the style.css.
thanks!February 21st, 2014 at 01:42 #23963In reply to: Pagination on Presentation Page Broken

Hi. I’m having the same issue. If I reduce the number of displayed posts to less than the number of posts on my site, when I go to page 2 I get
“Not Found
Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.”
I am still using Tempera 0.9.7 because my site needs pages, not a continuously expanding front page. Is there a fix for my site?

Had the same problem as Nyasha, “Not Found – Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.” when navigating the slider. Found that the plugin for InBound Now (Call To Action from http://www.inboundnow.com/cta/) was interfering with the slider, and when deactivated, the slider is back to normal!

Cryout Creations mastermindHi.
This is not a bug in the theme. The issue is caused by a broken theme archive lurking on WordPress’ servers.
When you update your site WordPress serves you the zip file from one of their severs. Since some serve the corrupt archive while others serve the good one this issue occurs only for some sites. We have no control here and we cannot fix this in any way.
The solution is to manually download the theme from WordPress on your computer and check that you get the correct one (212 files and 21 folders) – http://wordpress.org/themes/download/mantra.2.3.3.zip
Try the download repeatedly if you get the corrupt copy. Eventually you’ll receive the correct one. Then go to your dashboard and create a theme settings export (just to have a backup).
Go to Appearance > Themes and delete (uninstall) Mantra.
And manually re-install the theme from the good archive you previously downloaded (see our tutorial on “semi-manual installation”) – http://www.cryoutcreations.eu/wordpress-themes/wordpress-tutorials/how-to-install-a-wordpress-themeOf course there’s also the option of deleting the theme and reinstalling it via the search/install directly (without downloading it to your computer) but this may require several tries until you get the correct archive.

I posted this to another user, but wanted to add her on this thread as it seems multiple people are having this issue.
I am saving the permalinks as Post name. When clicking save in wordpress the Setting give me two messages.
‘Settings saved’
‘Permalink structure updated’I may try installing LAMP and installing locally to see if I can replicate the issue. Looks like it is searching for the script and not finding.
