@simpson1331 are you sure your ‘kahuna-child’ folder contains a child theme for Kahuna width just the customizations and necessary files and not a duplicate (edited) copy of the entire theme folder?

The style.css file at least is a complete copy (perhaps customized) of Kahuna’s own style.

That is how browsers handle file display and it cannot be customized by the site in any way.
You may want to look into using a Fancybox/Colorbox/Lightbox plugin for images.

@platinme your menu items link to in-page elements. This does not trigger the site reload (like with normal links) which would make the mobile menu close.

The content left/right padding and top margin are all configurable in the theme’s options.
The page titles visibility is also configurable.

If you’re looking to recreate the full-width content (like the slider on the current homepage), that will not be possible with a static page as pages contents (and posts, and all other sections except the special presentation page feature) cannot extend beyond the configured content width limits.

The theme doesn’t read any other image attributes from the media library beside the image file URL. If you require additional attributes to be present on the images (for accessibility or other reasons) I suggest replacing the built-in slider with a dedicated slider plugin.

There is no magic solution to make sure the text is readable on any kind of slide images (without changing the theme’s design).

You can try using a different slider plugin which displays captions below the images (or with an opaque background).
