Hello,

I would like to have a background-video on my website on the frontpage with the Parabola-Theme.
I’m using Video Background from PushLabs out of the plugins-menu from WordPress.
I can insert a background-video on single pages, but not on the frontpage itself.
http://lyeaux.de/wp-content/uploads/Cyan-Waterspace.mp4 is the video I like to insert and on the “how-to-site” from PushLabs, I found a shortcode, I don’t know where to insert: [vidbg container=”body” mp4=”#” webm=”#” poster=”#” muted=”true” loop=”true” overlay=”false” overlay_color=”#000″ overlay_alpha=”0.3″]

Can you please help me?

Depending on what you’re currently displaying on the homepage, that would be simple or not.
If you’re displaying a static page, then it should be no different than the rest of the singe pages you added the background on.

If you’re displaying the posts list (or the theme’s presentation page feature which is an extension of the posts list), this behaves like a category/archive. Did you add the background video on other categories/archives? How?

Doesn’t the plugin provide a general way of setting a background video site-wide (CSS and/or script)?

I’m displaying the themes presentation page, where I like to add the background-video as body.

No and no and this is why I need help. _:D

I’ve found the/a code on https://be-jo.net/2014/04/video-als-hintergrundbild-mit-html5-und-css/ but I don’t know, where to insert it into the code from the Parabola-Theme.

The example code is for plain HTML sites. On WordPress things are a bit more complicated. Having the HTML structure split among different files you’d need to edit multiple files and also add checks/conditions to limit the video to the homepage only.
