In reply to: Can't use mantra settings
Andy
Hi,
I am having the same issue. I have the latest ordPress 3.7.1. and have just installed Mantra v 2.2.1 by Cryout Creations.
On wp-admin/themes.php?page=mantra-page I have the error:
“If this message remains visible after the page has loaded then there is a problem with your WordPress jQuery library. This can have several causes, including incompatible plugins.
The Mantra Settings page cannot function without jQuery. You need to fix this issue before you can configure Mantra.”I have the following installed plugins *But NONE activated:
AJAX Thumbnail Rebuild Version 1.09 | By junkcoder
Akismet Version 2.5.9 | By Automattic
Post Tabs Version 2.9.2 | By Leo Germani
WP Spry Menu Version 1.5.2 | By takien
WPtouch Mobile Plugin Version 1.9.8.8 | By BraveNewCode Inc.Is it perhaps a problem with CHMOD on file directories as I have had that high security server issue before …
What else can I check to fix this error?
Thanks for your support,

Hi, I am a newbie here and this is my first attempt at building a website. The Mantra theme has made it very easy. I’ve exported my THEMES OPTIONS however I’ve been trying to figure out how to back up my database files and have only found “what to do” answers… but not “HOW to do”. For instance the above comment says to achieve it via “the hosting control panel”. Hope you can help because I have no idea what you’re talking about or “how” to do that…. told you, I’m a newbie!!! LOL

Hi Maria
There is no option to have two column pages within the theme, only single page column and variations of right and left sidebars. A plug-in like TablePress may help you achieve what you need.
I hope this helps…

Hi Adrian
I think this is within Parabola Settings <color settings and is the 5th field of Accents.
I hope this helps

Cryout Creations mastermindRos, you will lose those files the next time you update the theme.
Grab the URLs for the images you want to use out of WordPress’ library (Media > Library) and paste the URLs in the fields in the theme settings. This cannot not work.
Make sure you get the correct links, not the ?attachment_id= ones.

Cryout Creations mastermindThe easiest way to add the phone number is to place it in the header image (even a transparent one if you’re not using a header image). Adding custom content to the header is very complicated.
Extra text 2 font size:
#frontpage #front-text4 blockquote { font-size: 10px; }
I don’t get the last part about the small text at the right top of the page and extra tabs…

Cryout Creations mastermindNice to see these posts saying things differently than the WordPress forums posts. There you just complained the theme wouldn’t display the slider images. Here you admit you have no idea how to define the images.
Guess you failed to read the available documentation.
I will also write my review of your documentation reading inability everywhere I can.

Cryout Creations mastermindThe text fields support (basic) HTML, so you might pull it of by writing something like
<div class="myppbox">column text goes here</div>
then styling that div using custom CSS:
.myppbox { border: 1px solid #666; border-radius: 10px; }
I did not test this and I’m not sure exactly what HTML tags and attributes WordPress filters out of the code. You can try various things… even using tricks to achieve this (like placing the text inside a <span> and then using this custom CSS tag
#front-columns .column-text > span { }

Hi Jim,
Well, blimey. That was too easy. All other sites I have worked with need code changes to do that! And, I just hovered over the ? and it does say to leave blank as you said… can’t believe I did not see that!
Many many thanks!

I would very much like to have sidebar widgets on the presentation page. It’s awkward to expect people to follow or email subscribe if they must scroll to the footer area. It would be much more convenient to have various search parameters on the presentation page to help people find specific topics and posts. Please consider this is future updates.

Jim
Hi Jane
I think you can do this by going to Parabola settings for the Presentation Page then you need to go to the area call Presentation Page Columns, here there is a text box called “Read more text:” and if you blank that field the link doesn’t show. Also I think it wouldn’t show if you remove the links within each of the columns.
I can’t help with the How to.. section I’m afraid, as I’m just a humble user! 🙂I hope this helps..

Hi Jim
Thanks – that really did the trick and a bit humbled that I spent time trying to work out why putting the shortcode in the image field wouldn’t work – all because I had in mind that I was going to put text in the text field. A bit rigid, I know.
But to press on now….. and work out how I can get a box around the text that is now sitting under the video, and a box that has shadow at that, not to mention rounded corners.
The sad thing is that although I’ve come to agree with Zed that video on the frontpage actually detracts …. I still have to see whether it can be done.
Thanks again
Robert

Hi Liz
If you are going to look for another theme, and rather than just doing a reset it might be worth first trying an un-install then a re-install of Parabola as I’ve not seen anyone have similar issues via this forum. If you do this then as I suggested above Export and Import your settings first.
Also have you tried using a different browser?Good luck

Hi Robert
I managed to do this, I used a plug in called “Youtube shortcode” I created the shortcode using a draft WP page. Then I pasted the short code into the Column Text area, leaving the other fields blank and saved.
I hope this helps

Hi
Was there any resolve on this. I have activated Jetpack tried to enter a shortcode into the image field for column 3 on the presentation field without any success.
Am I missing something here or is the column image field 3 not able to take a shortcode.
Thanks
Robert

Hi Jim
No problem, it’s often a simple and obvious mistake 🙂
But yes, I saved the settings. They show in the back-end but are not visible on the site.I think it’s something to do with the background because I can change the font of text fine but any colour changes don’t stick. How can I get past this? Should I reset to default? Would that remove all of my content, ie slider images?
Many thanks for all of your help,

Hi Jim
The effect looks really nice. Could you let me know the code to paste into the custom CSS area?
I am very new to this and tried pasting in the code with and without {} , so I am defiantly missing something here.
Thanks very much

Hi Jim
Your help worked beautifully, but now none of colour settings I’ve made will stick. I’ll make a colour choice and it won’t show on the website. Hard refreshing doesn’t help, I’ve even imported colour schemes which show once then disappear. I’ve tried removing the code you gave me but nothing helps.
Please can you give me some advice, I’d appreciate it.
Thanks

Still no reply after FOUR DAYS? This is really sad. I really wanted to use this theme and I really wanted to pay you all some money for support on it. I read some reviews and even found a review from someone who said they paid for support from you and that they never heard back from you regarding their issue. I think this says a lot. I will be posting my review of the support from this Theme Company everywhere I can. If you can’t make a theme and support it accordingly, DON’T MAKE IT.

Cryout Creations mastermindYou should place all CSS in the custom CSS field (or a child theme).
You’ll lose changes you do to theme files on the next update.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindAlex, as I’ve already replied on the WordPress forums, that’s the wrong way of doing things.
All you have to do to make sure the slider works is to check there are no JavaScript issues on your site and that the image URLs are correct and publicly visible (or that the posts have featured images). That’s all.

Hi Liz
Sorry I think I fed you some wrong information. The easiest thing to do with the slider border is to set its colour to transparent. You can do this within Parabola Settings > Color Settings > Presentation Page the just leave the field for Slider Border Color empty. I’ll do some more research and get back to you about the column borders.
I hope this helps

October 17th, 2013 at 18:52 #13027In reply to: Image size garbage
Alex
Yes when you upload a picture wordpress makes different sizes, 4 I think.
you can see them /wp-content/uploads/2013/10 (my uploads Are filed with year/month folders) wacky sizes indeed.I think it reads the image dimensions from the file info and then multiplies by some factor like .8 or something. WordPress does this automatically when you upload an image, so if you change image size when you select an image to use the file already exists. When you select an image to use from media images and edit it there is a check box for size and then a button that says use this image.
In Dashboard–>Settings –> Media you set the image sizes.
example Thumbnail 150×150
Medium 300×300
Large 600×600
When you upload image it needs to be the size you set, if not when it is cropped or resized it may not be perfect.
I play it safe.. for each media image I create 3 images with exact dimensions.
imagethumbnail150x150.jpg
imagemedium300x300.jpg
imagelarge600x600.jpgFor some images you can hover over the question mark ?, and it may have the recommended image size ( like slider and column images)
Default content width is 1050, so slider image default size is 1050 x 350
Column images arre 308×308
You can always change the image sizes but you must make sure all settings regarding image sizes are equal to the actual image dimensions.developer @ uquitsmoking.info
October 17th, 2013 at 18:25 #13025In reply to: 4th column on fron page.
Alex
Check your image sizes.
Simple test..Change content width to 1400 if you can see images in full you will need to tweak image sizes and/or content width
For three columns the default width is 308×308 with a layout setting content width of 1050 ..the math doesnt work because the padding on sides of and between images.
You either need to increase content width or image width. I think for 4 columns I tried image width 230 pixels with a content width of 1050.developer @ uquitsmoking.info

Hi William and Tracy,
I was also facing the same problem but after going through the below url
:
http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/breadcrumbs-how-to-show-home-instead-of-blog-title-in-the-breadcrumbs/I fixed it by doing the below mentioned changes:
1. Open the file named “theme-functions.php”
2. Search for the line:
echo ‘‘.get_bloginfo(‘name’).’ » ‘;
And replace it with
echo ‘Home » ‘;And after saving the changes. You will be able to have Home instead of Site title on your website.
