In reply to: Settings are not saving
Greg
just what I tried so far:
-re-installed the theme
-turn off all of the plugins
-different internet browsers (Chrome and Firefox)
-waiting (surely doesn’t help)To be more precise I go to Appearance -> Parabola settings and change whatever I like, hit the ‘save changes’ button then ‘Parabola settings updated successfully.’ pops up at the top. When i go to my website to check out the outcome nothing is changed, and when I get back to Parabola Settings everything is back to default.
anyone any idea how to make it work? It seems like no one else has this issue.

A few things to try:
Under SETTINGS/PERMALINKS make sure you have POST NAME checked off. Depending on how you set the site up, this can effect the URLs in some browsers.
When you’re in the Page Edits, at the top, you’ll see a place you can edit the Permalink. See what that’s doing and change it if you have to.
Under Parabola Settings, Miscellaneous, make sure you have the IE Compatibility Tags enabled. I don’t think that would have an effect, but might as well try. LOL
December 19th, 2013 at 04:05 #14873In reply to: Line width
C. Stevenson
Neither will work. I don’t want side bars on any other page, and I’ve used HTML tables to control width in those pages (it’s a display site with lots of graphics).
I can’t use HTML tables on the posts page, and while the magazine layout is great for preview, the issue is back again when you click on the articles to read them.
I suppose I can set each article in a table (haven’t tried), but was hoping since every other text and line manipulation was available, width might also be.
I’d also love to be able to get a banner on top of the posts page, but can’t seem to manage that, either.

Cryout Creations mastermindBill, you can use the Custom Footer Text field in the theme settings to add your “website by” line.

Also make sure the slider images are the correct size (as the slider is configured).

Hi Jim,
It’s taken me a while but I deleted all the featured images, uploaded them again. Then deleted the REVIEWS and LIVE pages and recreated them and it’s seemed to have worked. So long as I don’t change the settings again it should be fine.
Cheers

Hi Francois
Just an observation, everything seems centred for the menu, but when I click on reviews I only see 3 menu options for the first page with the magazine layout issues where all the other pages show 5 options. Could there be some menu conflict somewhere?
Jim..

1. To add dropdowns, just go to Appearance -> menu and create your own menu or edit that you have. Pull pages that you need under the Poppies Portfolio menu line, just little bit down and right. That’s how you’ll get dropdowns.
2. No
3. In Parabola settings you have an option to move your tittle manually, just fill the right amount of align under your logo options. You have to do it manually, no auto option.December 9th, 2013 at 19:14 #14495In reply to: Captions on gallery

Cryout Creations mastermindYou should be able to achieve this using a bit of custom CSS:
.gallery-caption { opacity: 1; }

The same thing happened to me. Not only that: After that “not found” page within my site, when I tried to go to the dashboard or Home page, the whole site crashed and this time I got a Google message (not within my site) of “Page not found”.
This never happened to me with Parabola.
By the way, the site where I am testing Tempera is http://www.martinyrocha.cl
Cheers!

I think if you go to Presentation Page settings and disable posts on front page, it should remover the message.
I hope this helps

Bill, looks like Zed’s response seems final. I too want to remove the “Powered by WordPress” cause it’s a target for spammers. This template over-rides two applications I installed to remove that footer tag line for security purposes on page and posts.
There’s an option to remove this credit line on the “Presentation page” via the theme admin page
> Click on the “Presentation Page” option
> Scroll down to the last item in this option to the “Hidden areas” option…
> Check the “Hide the footer (copyright area).
These steps remove the credit from the presentation (front) page only.
Zed, what’s the price (upgrade) to have this option applied to all pages / posts?

Hi Brandi
My turn to read and reply too quickly, I see what you mean now about the tabs ie showing the page name followed site name. The Home page reads as you want it, but not sure how to make the other pages the same way.

Hi Brandi
Disabling capitalization is the last option under Text Settings.
As for changing the Menu lables you can do this under Menus and then opening up the particular menu item and putting in an alternative name in Navigation Label field.
I hope this helps

Apologies Zed, just realised you replied to my question. Never got any notification of it!
I am using a google font called Raleway. I just want to be able to make the font bigger for the title and tagline and also use lower case. How do I do that? ThanksDecember 1st, 2013 at 19:05 #14144In reply to: Total width of useable page wider than 1050

Thanks Jim. After you suggested it, I tried it. I can see I need to resize the page before I add anything to it because unfortunately, I think I have to resize all the jpg’s I’ve already put in if I resize the page. It’s logical, and nothing wrong with the program. It’s good to know I can resize from the start.
Thanks

Oh crap. I didn’t realize if you were being serious or not and when I tried to figure out what you mean I realized you were talking about the footer and I am so very sorry. I did not even notice it had been missing. I added a login button to it and completely didn’t see that. I am so sorry. It is never my intention to keep credit from being given where do. It has been restored where it rightfully was. Luckily the site has only been live for a month.

I just tested Cookie Law Info with Parabola and the warning is displayed fine, including being responsive on small screens.
I couldn’t get Cookillian to display any notice, either on Parabola or on the Twenty-something themes.

Even, after updating to Parabola 1.3.1 I have the same issues with mobile view on my site.
When you have a picture for the header of your site it looks horrible on mobile phone. I’ve made width of my tempale – 1200 px and so the header is 1200×80. With vertical align of the screen on a mobile device, a picture of a header has wrong proportions (it is too high for its width). -
