Hi D. I actually wrote a small article on it, but felt it was a bit presumptuous of me so didn’t post it.
The blog (the page your posts default to and show up on) is the ruler of the site, not the presentation page, so keep that in mind.
So, what I did is choose the layout I wanted for that blog page, which was a column with a right hand sidebar. That gave me both my sidebar with a list of posts, links, etc.. and a much narrower column for my blog articles.
Then I went in and changed the other pages individually to One Column no sidebar in the edit mode under Page Attributes on the right.
I was unable to then use the magazine layout for the posts preview page and I was also not able to use Category Page with Intro under the Page Attributes, without creating new issues. But, that might be because of something else I had done, I’m not sure.

I just tried tried to figure it out too. You have to go to widgets section and put anyone of your available widgets in the “presentation page columns. Be sure to save it then edit away!

Hi Olivia, I don’t have the answer to your problem, but I hope you get it fixed!
I’m jumping on this article because it seems the most sensible to group website responsive under a single post.
My problem is that when I use Windows snap feature to the edge of the screen (so you can get two equal size windows on either side), my text and containers are not responding to the new size properly, and some the text is missing. I find this annoying and I imagine my readers will too. Any advice would be very appreciated. I love your parabola theme by the way, keep up the good work! Here is a screenshot on what I am experiencing:

Patrick
Yes, it still uses the same image in 0.9.3
However, I tried the workaround suggested by Tim. It works, if I copy the wordpress link, and set the other image, I have two different images for the favicon and the custom logo.
I assume it’s a bug in the “Select/Upload Image” Dialog. Every time I use that, it sets the same link for both the favicon and the custom logo.

Cryout Creations mastermindCould you be a bit more specific about the issue you’re having? We’ve tested on IE9 and everything looks okay. Could you provide a screenshot?

I am unable to upload a slider. The dimensions are correct. I can’t see what i might be doing wrong but when i try to view it the slider just loads and loads. I used Mantra for another blog awhile back and had no problem so i don’t think i’m doing anything wrong it seems basic enough….

Cryout Creations mastermindIn your case you need to link to your “categories”. The blog template is to be used as a replacement for WordPress’ default homepage, which lists all posts from all categories.

Hi
I think within the Presentation Page Setting you can enable the posts to show on the presentation page and then there is a field next to it where you can set how many posts you want to show.I hope this helps

Hi
I am using Parabola on my development site – great theme – and I am quite happy to have the copyright footer displayed. I am using a large full-screen background image, centred, not tiled, fixed. I have noticed that if the user selects a page on which there is not much text, causing the copyright footer to be displayed immediately, after viewing a page with enough text on it not to cause the copyright footer to be displayed unless you scroll down far enough, the whole display including the background image lurches slightly to one side. This is a bit disconcerting/untidy. Seems not to be browser related. Is this a bug or a “feature” ?
December 19th, 2013 at 23:13 #14901In reply to: Settings are not saving
Greg
just what I tried so far:
-re-installed the theme
-turn off all of the plugins
-different internet browsers (Chrome and Firefox)
-waiting (surely doesn’t help)To be more precise I go to Appearance -> Parabola settings and change whatever I like, hit the ‘save changes’ button then ‘Parabola settings updated successfully.’ pops up at the top. When i go to my website to check out the outcome nothing is changed, and when I get back to Parabola Settings everything is back to default.
anyone any idea how to make it work? It seems like no one else has this issue.

C. Stevenson
A few things to try:
Under SETTINGS/PERMALINKS make sure you have POST NAME checked off. Depending on how you set the site up, this can effect the URLs in some browsers.
When you’re in the Page Edits, at the top, you’ll see a place you can edit the Permalink. See what that’s doing and change it if you have to.
Under Parabola Settings, Miscellaneous, make sure you have the IE Compatibility Tags enabled. I don’t think that would have an effect, but might as well try. LOL

Neither will work. I don’t want side bars on any other page, and I’ve used HTML tables to control width in those pages (it’s a display site with lots of graphics).
I can’t use HTML tables on the posts page, and while the magazine layout is great for preview, the issue is back again when you click on the articles to read them.
I suppose I can set each article in a table (haven’t tried), but was hoping since every other text and line manipulation was available, width might also be.
I’d also love to be able to get a banner on top of the posts page, but can’t seem to manage that, either.

Cryout Creations mastermindBill, you can use the Custom Footer Text field in the theme settings to add your “website by” line.

Hi Jim,
It’s taken me a while but I deleted all the featured images, uploaded them again. Then deleted the REVIEWS and LIVE pages and recreated them and it’s seemed to have worked. So long as I don’t change the settings again it should be fine.
Cheers

Hi Francois
Just an observation, everything seems centred for the menu, but when I click on reviews I only see 3 menu options for the first page with the magazine layout issues where all the other pages show 5 options. Could there be some menu conflict somewhere?
Jim..

1. To add dropdowns, just go to Appearance -> menu and create your own menu or edit that you have. Pull pages that you need under the Poppies Portfolio menu line, just little bit down and right. That’s how you’ll get dropdowns.
2. No
3. In Parabola settings you have an option to move your tittle manually, just fill the right amount of align under your logo options. You have to do it manually, no auto option.December 9th, 2013 at 19:14 #14495In reply to: Captions on gallery

The same thing happened to me. Not only that: After that “not found” page within my site, when I tried to go to the dashboard or Home page, the whole site crashed and this time I got a Google message (not within my site) of “Page not found”.
This never happened to me with Parabola.
By the way, the site where I am testing Tempera is http://www.martinyrocha.cl
Cheers!

Bill, looks like Zed’s response seems final. I too want to remove the “Powered by WordPress” cause it’s a target for spammers. This template over-rides two applications I installed to remove that footer tag line for security purposes on page and posts.
There’s an option to remove this credit line on the “Presentation page” via the theme admin page
> Click on the “Presentation Page” option
> Scroll down to the last item in this option to the “Hidden areas” option…
> Check the “Hide the footer (copyright area).
These steps remove the credit from the presentation (front) page only.
Zed, what’s the price (upgrade) to have this option applied to all pages / posts?
