I am having some difficulty with your themes (both tempera and parabola) where I am unable to change any of the theme specific settings. The menu does not expand to allow me to make the changes. I have attempted to open them in chrome, firefox, and IE with the same effect. I have un/re-installed WP, both themes, and am at a loss for what to do now. Please help 🙂

    Thanks!

I am having this issue as well. I tried embedding the video into a table and editing the width and height of the table, but the resulting size seems to be completely random and changes every time I re-embed the video. Without tables, the video spans the entirety of the page, which is not great. Here’s my example:

    Hi bigbear

Are you page attributes over-riding the main layout selection? If they’re not the same, your page attributes will be applied, regardless of what the main page settings are.

You might have figured this out already, so I’m sorry if this is too late.

    Slider Graphic
Go to Appearance> Tempera Settings> Presentation Page > Slides and make a selection for your slide content. The graphics will be the images associated with the content you select.

    Three Cryout Boxes
Go to Appearance > Widget > Presentation Page Columns > Cryout Columns (you can drag this widget into the Presentation Page Columns box from the widget list on the left) and then add your content within the Cryout Columns settings.

    I hope that helps!

Found the problem. The googles reminded me that blank spaces/lines after the ‘?>’ at the end of a file can cause problems.

So, the themes-styles.php file had some extra spaces after the ‘close-php’ code. I removed that, and the RSS feed is now working.

It may be that I had edited that file in the admin-editor, and the extra lines were added. I’d have to look at the original theme files to see if there are the extra spaces there.

But, for others that might have this problem; check any modified theme files for extra spacing or blank lines after the ‘close-php’ code.

Hosting is provided by BlueHost; they are not Windows-based, I believe.

Wordpress is at latest version. Not sure where the problem is, but RSS was ok with prior theme.

    Where to start looking?

    @import url(http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Alegreya+SC)
should work just fine in the Custom CSS field.
    Then use font-family: "Alegreya SC";

You cannot do this. You’ll need to replace every occurrence of the “mantra” word in all of Mantra’s files to something else.
It would be easier to create a child theme – http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

When you chose a font from Google, you get a complex link depending on the things you chose; for example:
    http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=My+Awesome+Font:300,300italic,400,400italic,700,700italic&subset=latin

Just enter everything after family= to the field in the theme settings:
    My+Awesome+Font:300,300italic,400,400italic,700,700italic&subset=latin

    Hi.

There are indeed some question marks that shouldn’t be there, but these shouldn’t break the links, unless the webserver misinterprets them.
The stray question marks will be removed in the next update. In the meantime you can edit your tempera/fonts/fontface.css and delete the question marks in the ‘elusive’ font lines whey they are followed by quote and parenthesis. Leave the two lines that have ?#something unmodified.

    Item 3: Second Text Position

Hey Presto! As soon as I post it, I find that this is exactly where the text sits. Whilst I am sure I simply missed it, I shall instead believe that the support for the theme is fabulous and it was added in just for me!

I tried this and it works in the settings but it seems there is an override which will always display just five icons. Has anyone found a solution?

    thanks,

@ Kay — you are correct insofar it is within the plug-ins that are the problem. I deactivated all and then tried to add them back in one by one and checking to see if social media icons would still work. It did up until I got to the 5th one or so. I didn’t think that there were any limitations with any theme on the amount of plug-ins that could run. Am I incorrect?

The theme is translation-ready. We never said it had languages installed. But being translation ready means that it’s really easy for you to translate it.

Here’s our tutorial on how to do it http://www.cryoutcreations.eu/wordpress-themes/wordpress-tutorials/how-to-translate-a-wordpress-theme and here’s a great plugin you should check out that makes everytying even easier http://wordpress.org/plugins/codestyling-localization/

    Hi John!

I’ve also replied to your question on the WordPress.org forums. Here’s that same reply again 😀

The simplest way would be to replace 2 images from the /images/socials folder for some social networks that you would never use with images for the socials you need (making sure to keep the same file names). Then form the theme settings choose those Social Networks and your images will be used.

Careful though as this solution does not use a child theme so your custom images will be overridden in case of a theme update.

We will however implement custom social support in a future update. Stay tuned 😉

It was probably from incorrect image sizes. Thanks a lot for the feedback!

I’m using Google Chrome and Firefox, issue exist on both of them.

I found a way to go around this issue, but it’s pain in the back and it’s taking ages.

I exported default setting to the file, and than made changes manually in the settings code itself, than imported modified file to parabola settings and it actually works. Of course if I make any changes in Parabola setting in admin panel it resets to default again.

Sorry to drag this thread up again, but I’m experiencing the hidden sub-menu problem.

Please check my website. Hovering over “Travelling” should display multiple levels of sub-menus.

If I refresh the web page but before the web page finishes loading I can “see” that the sub menus are there, but when the web page finishes loading, they’re not displaying.

I’m not an expert with CSS but when I try and google the problem, it appears that the problem is a combination of the Mantra themes and the Nextgen wordpress plugin.

Sub menus weren’t working, then I upgraded to wordpress 3.8 and then they were working. I then did some editing to the website in that I tried to add a nextgen gallery to a webpage as well as tidying up dome gallery names in Nextgen, and now the sub menus have disappeared again.

My CSS knowledge isn’t good enought o decipher the cryptic comment above mine. Can anyone advise how I can rectify the conflict between the theme and the plugin?

    Hi Mike,

I came across your post while searching for an issue that is similar to yours. I wanted to completely remove the text boxes. While adjusting the opacity of the box, the text would also become opaque and disappear. I posted my question here:

    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/opacity-of-text-boxes-on-sliders-in-tempera-theme?replies=7#post-5052896

As you can see, this answer may help you as well in regards to what element to adjust in your Custom CSS or child theme.

Just passing on the help I received.

    Hi

You only have a title field between the slider and the columns, and one above the slider. This is in the Presentation Page settings > Extras and then Second Title field.

    I hope this helps

    Hmmm…

have the same issue. Tried using alternate fonts in the css section but didn’t make it. The text which cannot be changed are Top Title and Second Title in the Extra Text section of PRESENTATION PAGE.

    Yes, your theme is great!

Would be nice, if you find a solution.

I am currently using Parabola 1.2.2 with Firefox 26.0 and NoScript 2.6.8.8 (permission granted for the website I am updating).

I have tried to export the Theme Option Settings, but I get a page full of error statements onscreen instead. I have captured the page as an html file if you would like to look it over.

    Here is an extract:
“Notice: ob_clean() [ref.outcontrol]: failed to delete buffer. No buffer to delete. in /home/content/24/4774624/html/bcregimentband/wp-content/themes/parabola/admin/admin-functions.php on line 8

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/24/4774624/html/bcregimentband/wp-content/themes/parabola/admin/admin-functions.php:8) in /home/content/24/4774624/html/bcregimentband/wp-content/themes/parabola/admin/admin-functions.php on line 31”

    The error for line 31 is repeated for lines 32, 33, 34, 37, 38, 39, 41.

There is more stuff that follows; from the looks of it, I think that it is the theme options data.

Out of curiosity, what browser(s) are you guys using?

I have found in the past, that WordPress does not play very well with IExplorer. WP Stuff that I could do no problem in Firefox simply did not work properly in IE. Perhaps switching browsers when updating your sites will help.
