I finally found the root cause for the problem. I use Google Maps plugin to display routes in some of my posts. When there is a list of posts the following error is generated which causes the html code to stop:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘libraries’ of undefined
at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (js-map.min.js?ver=1.7.2:1)
at i (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)
at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)

at HTMLDocument.K (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)

I guess something does not wait for google visualization to finish loading its libraries before it uses them. Any ideas how to fix this…?

OK, after a lot of experiments I can say for sure that the animations are missing only when there is a list of posts – displaying posts from a certain category or recent posts on the home page. No matter what I do or what configurations I change somehow this list of posts spoils the animation effects on every page/place it is present.

Do you have any idea how can I fix this issue?

I actually have an account from like 2000, so I got grandfathered in somehow – so I used that account on the site that was not approved and it displays ads no problem…

I tried setting up an account for a website with all original content and AdSense denied their application because of not enough original content. I can’t find a way to speak to anyone direct about AdSense…

I can’t remember being told to put code after the head tag – it is always put wherever you want the ad to display…

Okay, perhaps I expressed myself wrongly. On screen <h1> titles are displayed plain but <h2> …<h6> titles are displayed in bold. To my opinion it should be viceversa: <h1> in bold and <h2>…<h6> in plain text as you can add the strong tag in text editor.

All of the theme’s landing page content is configurable in its settings, under Appearance > Customize > [FL] Landing Page. There you can enter text in certain title fields and select the pages that get used to create the text blocks with.

To define the actual text displayed in these blocks you’ll have to edit the pages themselves.

I suggest looking for a slider plugin that has such functionality. Once you have it you’ll only need to enter the plugin’s shortcode in the theme seetings to display the slider.

You can set a site logo using WordPress’ core functionality, located under Site Identity (in the customizer panel).

Then you can chose to display a logo (or not) in the theme’s own options.

With WordPress you’d normally split your content into two major categories: recipes and posts (journal). These two can of course have further subcategories.

Then you’d display specific (sub)categories on your site and avoid displaying the main blog page (as that would mix the two types of posts together).

The Magazine Layout option applies to all sections that display a list of posts (categories, archives, search results). This cannot be easily customized for a specific category as there is a lot of code and styling involved in this option’s functionality that would need adapting.

Featured image size is a very problematic subject – the image needs to be loaded at a size that is suitable for all of the theme’s layout options: any content width with zero to two sidebars and simultaneously with posts displayed in any configuration from 1 to 3 per row.
Large images can be resized to fit in small area better than small images will look enlarged.

1. Pages don’t display featured image inside them. If you want images there, you can insert the images in the content itself. Featured images on pages will be used for sharing services and/or sitemaps.

The page’s featured image will only be used as a header image if the assigned image is wide enough to fill the header area. Check this if the set featured image is not used in the header of that page.

2. Those are the headings, the options for which you’ll find under Text Settings.

I see you use video posts. Post formats (image, video, audio, status, aside, so on) and sticky posts are always displayed in full, regardless of the theme’s excerpt options.

Any comments on:

(We also believe we have that problem when they first view the slider at the top of the desktop (and tablet) screen, and that our users will not realize that there is more to view below, and not realize they need to scroll down. That is a somewhat different problem, and we will have to figure out how to provide visual indicators and navigational assistance so that they know there is more below and figure out how to get to it. If you have any experience of how to solve this problem, we’d be very interested in hearing your suggestions.)

HTML elements (h2/h3) cannot be added through the settings or CSS. You’d need to edit theme files for this.

Menus are administered by WordPress (the theme just displays them). I am not aware if WordPress has no-follow attribute control, but perhaps a plugin exists for this.

The columns have 3 display options: animated, static on image and static under image (we believe the names are almost self-explanatory).

You can create a custom 1px tall image (but with the correct width) and use it for all the columns so the image condition is fulfilled. The static under image setting should work correctly with such an image.

If you’re using the blocks to display your featured posts, you can assign an empty or short static page on the homepage (and use it to display a short text below the second blocks area) and assign a different page to be the blog from WordPress’ options.

There is no ‘normal’ size. The size of the images should be that which is configured in both WordPress and the theme’s settings.
However, you may want to increase these values as they are currently set at 150×150 pixels, while the product images themselves are displayed at 234×234.

I see you’ve changed themes in the meantime.

For anyone else with the same question: Verbosa comes with two widget areas in the sidebar, one above the menu and one below. Any widget placed in the first one will be displayed before the menu.
