1. If I change the colors of background, menu buttons, etc. will those changes be affected by any future upgrades?

   love the theme.. just need to tweak some colors to match my business logo, etc.

   1. Theme settings (as configured) are kept between updates.

2. Love the theme… its clean and neat and very functional. If I tweak the colors in a particular color scheme will they be affected by upgrades?

   1. Theme settings (what’s seen on the Parabola Settings page) are kept between updates.

3. Is there anyway to add widgets next to the right of recent posts on the presentation page. Also, when I change the thumbnail size it doesn’t do anything.

   1. The presentation page does not display sidebars so you cannot add widgets on it.
      Thumbnails are generated on file upload, so thumbnail size options have effect only on images uploaded after you change the values.
      To regenerate thumbnails for the new size(s), either re-upload the images or use a plugin to forge the regeneration (search WordPress’ page).

4. Thank you for an awesome theme. As I ad pages it keeps putting it in Alphabetical order, how do I switch it off?

5. Hi Zed! Love the template it’s the third one I’ve tried so far and this one is the ‘charm’. I’ve just sent you guys a donation. That’s for the free stuff! Anyway, I’m new to this and still building the site. I have two questions. I’m far from being done and don’t even have content at this point, just trying to get it all configured properly.
   1) I noticed that when I generated a site map to submit to Google, that it generated a site map for “attachments” and there were 46 attachments urls. I’m pretty sure that these are not necessary and I’m not sure where they came from when I have one ‘testing’ post and a few photos in the slider. I searched the SEO but I couldn’t find where I could stop these url’s from generating.
   2) In regards to the three columns under the slider on the presentation page. I’ve installed the WP Popular Post widget which I can use on the side bar or embed it into the theme. Want I actually want is, to use those 3 columns as rotating popular posts for 3 different categories. Any suggestions on how I can make this work? Thanks and happy holidays!

      2. That behaviour definitely needs some custom coding, and depending on the functions provided by the plugin it will be easier or harder. I’ll have a look at this in the next days…

   1. I didn’t know it was possible any other way. A theme applies to all of the site’s pages, not just some.

   1. You’re trying to reproduce using a static page the functionality Parabola provides in its Presentation Page, which can be enabled and configured via the Presentation Page section in the theme’s settings.

         1. We’d need more information for this. Which areas did you fill in? What was it supposed to appear (and where)?

10. Hi, my slider from your guy’s theme just continues to spin and never loads. Any idea why?

    1. Either invalid image URLs or a Javascript error. It would be useful if you gave us a link to do a more in-depth check.

11. In Parabola when I enable the presentation page, the animated slider doesn’t load and I just get a big white box at the top. I have my settings to “show posts” and not a static page. Am I missing something?

    1. Could be a JavaScript issue. Could you give us an URL?

12. How can I install the parabola theme in my free WordPress blog?
    In dashboard Appearance > Themes I don’t have “Install Themes”…
    Do I need to do an upgrade?

    1. Free wordpress.com doesn’t allow you to install themes. You need to have either a self hosted WordPress installation or a paid WordPress.com account.

    1. Not yet but we may implement that in a future version.

15. I am unable to edit my presentation page via Appearance>Parabola Settings. The fields do not expand. Tried several browsers and made sure static was not enabled, etc. Am I missing something?

    1. Make sure you are using the latest theme and WordPress versions.

17. I can’t get the presentation page to work. I have it enabled. I set the page that I want as my landing page to both ‘Default’ and ‘Blog Template’ but the slider never shows up. I know I’m just missing something obvious but I can’t figure it out…

    1. You’re using a static page. Go to Settings > Reading and set “Your homepage displays” to “Your latest posts” to get the presentation page to appear.

    1. You’ll need custom CSS for this:
       div.post, div.page, div.hentry, .sidey .widget-container, #comments, .commentlist .comment-body, article.post, article.page, article.hentry, #nav-below, .page-header, .yoyo > li { border: none !important; }

20. Is there a way to change the background color for the “bottom text” in the Parabola theme?

    1. If you’re referring to the footer text, it’s the third content text colour option in the theme settings.

       1. I want to change the background color (not the text color) of “bottom text 1” in the extras section of the presentation page (The extra text box that appears under the presentation page columns).

          1. That area has no separate colour options. You will need to use custom CSS to change it independently:
             #frontpage #front-text4 blockquote { background-color: #123456; }

21. I ADORE this theme – it’s brilliant, thank you! Is there any chance in future versions that you can make the “Save Changes” button, bigger and green (Or at least a colour that really stands out)? I’ve nearly reset everything to default four times today already…!

    1. The extra text fields accept (most) HTML. You should be able to insert a stream if you write in (or paste) the HTML code for the player embed.

24. Hi. Getting ready to launch my page with Parabola theme. Can I add a hyperlink in the bottom text field of the presentation page? Couldn’t find that in FAQ’s or Settings. How do I do that? Thanks!

    1. Both presentation page extra text fields accept (most) HTML tags. Write in the HTML code for the link (if you don’t know how, write it in a post and then copy its code from the source view mode).

       1. Hey, thanks! I didn’t know how but now I know a workaround. I just launched my site and I’m getting great feedback on the overall look and especially the presentation page. I do have one more question. There seems to be just one size setting for the images in the 3 columns on that page. One looks too narrow and another looks too wide. Is there a way to adjust them separately?

          1. The correct image size is configured and suggested in the theme options. Make sure the images you use are the specified size.

             1. “theme options” is very vague – what exact SETTING is it under for controlling image size?

25. When creating a page and using the “Category page with intro” template option, how do I specify which blog category is displayed on the page? Thank you.

    I love Parabola. I just seem to have a problem with the menu buttons. The buttons are in alphabetical order (next to the home button). But I would like to reorder them. Do I miss something, because when I do it in the menu section of the dashboard, nothing changes.

27. Hi! I’ve recently started with Parabola. I really like your theme, very well done! Seems to me you even fixed the BuddyPress-plugin layout issue with 1.3.0. Unfortunately there are still layout and formatting problems with WooCommerce (as other users encountered also, as I read in the forum). I hope you can fix that problem, as WooCommerce is quite a widely used shop system. Either way, keep up the good work:))

    1. Please try the beta WooCommerce child theme and let us know if it requires more tinkering.

28. Hi Guys,
    First of all awesome product. I love everything about it, EXCEPT I have one minor issue that I hope someone can help me fix. So for social media settings, I have entered the correct info/URL for only (3) sites, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. However, when you click on one of the social media icons, it will not take you to any of the sites. It will simply open a new tab of the same window you were just looking at. Am I doing something wrong? Please help! Thank You!

    1. And it appears though I only have this problem on Chrome. I tried on Explorer and the links worked just fine also worked like a charm on my cell phone. Any thoughts on why it’s being funny on Chrome?

    1. Your WordPress doesn’t look to be installed correctly. It’s installed in /wp, but it appears to believe it should be in /
       Correct that first.
