When it happens the excerpt should be cut in the middle of an html tag, seems the tag is not closed. We have seen this on our site, where our article looked like:

Lorem ipsum some text in strong.

Unfortunately the length of an excerpt is so, that it looked:

Lorem ipsum some text in

Which resulted in all on the page after the excerpt to be strong. IMO the best fix would be to strip HTML tags from excepts completely.

The temporary workaround for us was to split the strong tag per word, but that won’t solve the issue in any past article we might have missed, nor for the future.

Disable the HTML Excerpts option in the theme’s settings (under Post Excerpt seettings).
