IntenseDebate for comment management has a lot to recommend it.
It’s not some fly-by-nite outfit… it’s the same folks that do WP.
The source of irritation is, when comments are turned off for a page, they seem to feel it necesarry to leave this:“Comments
Commenting Disabled
Commenting on this page has been disabled by the blog admin.”Mind boggles.
I’ve written them up a problem report regarding this, but who KNOWS when or if they’ll get round to it.
Further, I realise it’s a very few more lines of code for you,
but I thought it better than my kluging the template.More detail’s available here…

Many thanks,

Cryout Creations mastermindThere’s a very easy solution to that for all themes. Go to the theme settings page >> Graphics and there’s an option called .. wait for it… wait for it… “Comments are closed text”. (the option is under Post Information Settings in Tempera.)
Before posting consider reading our short theme debugging instructions.
Please read the FAQs: Mantra • Nirvana • Parabola • Tempera
Tutorials: custom menus • translating theme • installing theme • category page with intro • disabling comments Wordpress: child themes • categories/posts
Before making any modifications to your theme we strongly recommend using Child Themes. -
