IntenseDebate for comment management has a lot to recommend it.
It’s not some fly-by-nite outfit… it’s the same folks that do WP.
The source of irritation is, when comments are turned off for a page, they seem to feel it necesarry to leave this:

    “Comments
    Commenting Disabled
Commenting on this page has been disabled by the blog admin.”

    Mind boggles.

I’ve written them up a problem report regarding this, but who KNOWS when or if they’ll get round to it.

Further, I realise it’s a very few more lines of code for you,
but I thought it better than my kluging the template.

    More detail’s available here…

If you have a better interrium solution… would luv to hear it 🙂

    Many thanks,

There’s a very easy solution to that for all themes. Go to the theme settings page >> Graphics and there’s an option called .. wait for it… wait for it… “Comments are closed text”. (the option is under Post Information Settings in Tempera.)
