How to create a landing page leading to category pages

    Hi all

I have searched online and in these forums and cannot find the answer to what I imagine ought to be a fairy common request.

I’d like to make a page (not a post) which has a grid of images on it with a subject header under each image. Each image (and title) represents a category. Clicking on the image/title takes you to another page, which has all the posts from that category on it.

It’s a travel blog, so for example I’d like the page to be called ‘Destinations’ and appear in the menu bar. When you go to that page you see the grid, with a photo for each country. Clicking that takes you to the category page where you can see all the posts about that country.

How do I do this? I’ve tried creating a page and choosing ‘category page with intro’ as the template but I can’t see how to choose what category I want. Even if I manage to create pages for the different categories, I can’t see how to make a grid of images which I can then turn into hyperlinks to link back to each category page.

Can anyone help? I’ve seen lots of websites that look like this so it can’t be hard. But too hard for my newbie brain!

    Thanks
