Relevant plugins : Page scroll to id, Sticky Menu (or Anything!) on Scroll

Small issue with the reduced nav menu : as I only have anchors link related to a single page, the menu do not reduce once the entry is clicked. The link make me go to the correct anchor, but the menu is still “open”, using a third of the screen. I guess this is not a problem with regular links, since page is refreshed, but in my case, how to “close” the menu once a link is clicked ?

Okay, after getting a lot of info here and there, I now know how to do what I want, but it implies to override frontend.js. I try do this properly in the child theme, I tried several things in functions.php, using wp_dequeue and wp_enqueue, without success, frontend.js from parent theme is always the one used.
So, what am I missing ? What would be the procedure here ?
