I love the Tempera template and it looked awesome with my new site but I really wanted to use Woocommerce with it. I installed the beta and lost my site completely with the following error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function cryout_meta_hook() in /home/content/71/10537071/html/POETSPAINT/wp-content/themes/tempera/header.php on line 14. The whole site disappeared.
How do I get it back to at least the way it was before the Beta of WooCommerce until that part is working?
Dear Tempera-Team,
first let me say: it’s a geat Theme!!
I’m using your beta child theme to improve the functionality with woocommerce. Its not active so long. There is one Problem with another Plugin: The Plugin “custom sidebars” doesnt work with this child theme.
Are there any experiences or workarounds for this problem?
Thx
I just updated and my website disappeared…I’m using a new theme now, but I really liked Tempera. There was way too much set-up in the theme for me to reinstall and then chance this happening again.
Unfortunate.
It seems the zip stored on WordPress’ server is broken. Try to uninstall and reinstall the theme until you receive a working pack.
I can’t uninstall it. It has a stylesheet but no template. How do I get rid of the stylesheet so I can reinstall (it reads as already installed).
Unfortunately the only way to correct this state is to use a file manager or FTP client to delete the theme folder and then reinstall it.
awesome and big like
Thanks to provide this free theme!
I really like it
I want to thank you for a great template as well. I do have a couple of questions. I am not great at code, but wondered things.
1. Is it possible to make the images on the presentation page widget clickable/link able as well as the text?
2 is there a way to make the sidebars (if using a single sidebar) a little smaller than 220px?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Thanks for all your hard work!!!! My site is found at gotwick.com if you want to see your Tempera theme in action…for now, because I plan to use it for other sites now that I see what a great framework it is!
Not sure if I am doing something wrong, but I changed the background color for the Site title to black, and it only shows on the sub-title (the “tagline” in wordpress->settings->general…
I have a multi-colored graphic as background, so any color may not look right on top of it, since I want the background for the header area to be transparent, except where the title is…
The only other problem I have is that it would be great if the background image would scroll with the page instead of staying static and the content flows over it, for the same reason as the header background color being transparent…. I want to show my AureliaBorealis image in the background….
Thanks again!

Also, I downloaded the beta WooCommerce plugin, but it won’t install, I get an error message saying “he package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
The Social Icons don’t appear in my page, I selected one by one all the options to test and even checked’em all to see if they do, but don’t. Can anyone give me a help?
When I updated to 1.2 Tempera, my slider presentation doesn’t show up again. How do I fix that?
How about alter the crop on the featured image in posts displayed on the presentation page? Can this controlled and if so can it be controlled independently of the crop for the same image in other locations?
I am wondering if there is a way within the theme to create pull quotes without having to use a plugin.
I’m working on an iMac and the display is calibrated. The only other device I’ve seen it on is my ipad mini and all images appear washed out on that screen.
I’ve created a 4 theme comparison image much like what you have done and 3 of the 4 themes look normal while the Tempera theme is obviously over-saturated. How can I upload this image for you to see?
I’ve already set up all my images into galleries and now I am creating the individual pages. I don’t know if it is the Tempera theme or Gallery Bank plug-in that is creating this problem but my images are extremely over vibrant. I’ve even toned them down a great deal in Photoshop but they are still totally unnatural looking and unacceptable. What is creating this?
Here is the comparison image from my old site, http://www.angelfiredesigns.com/After_the_Fire.html
And here is what I’m getting with the WP site, http://www.angelfiredesigns.com/new/paintings/after-the-fire
What do I do? I don’t want to continue building this site if my artwork isn’t correctly represented.
I checked out how this same image looks using the TwentyFourteen theme and it looks just like it should. I noticed that when you click on the thumbnails of the paintings that I haven’t created pages for, and you get a little popup preview of the painting, the colors are psychedelic, really awful. http://www.angelfiredesigns.com/new/paintings#.U5twBo1dXok
This has to be fixable and if not, I’m really dissatisfied with this theme and all the futzing around I’ve done to customize it.
Hi.

Comparing the two source images: http://www.angelfiredesigns.com/After_the_Fire_files/After%20the%20Fire.jpg (old) and http://i0.wp.com/www.angelfiredesigns.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/After-the-Fire.jpg?resize=900%2C593 (new) I can see the new one is somewhat lighter, but far from it being “extremely over vibrant”. However this is very subjective.
I’ve made a side-by-side comparison of the two images the way I (my computer) see them:
Did you check your site out on different devices/computers? Perhaps this is something done by the screen/software on a particular device.
Here is the image in WP media gallery, This is very accurately portrayed. http://www.angelfiredesigns.com/new/paintings/after-the-fire/after-the-fire-2
This is the image on the page itself. http://www.angelfiredesigns.com/new/paintings/after-the-fire.
I’d like to be able to upload a comparison image of these 2 the way you have done. Is there a way for me to post an image?

I am using Tempera to build a real website with a blog attached. I’ve got my custom menu set up and I like using the static presentation page. I also created a home page because I don’t see any other way for people to click back to a main page from all the other pages. I’d like to eliminate the “home” page but how can I put the presentation page, that is the one they land on when they first click on my site, into the menu so that they can return to that main page. I see that if you click on my header title, that takes you back but 99% of people aren’t going to click on the title. If I have to keep the extra “home” page in the menu, I will, but that still doesn’t get them back to that presentation page, which is my goal.
There’s a special “Home” menu item in WordPress which you can use to always point at your site’s homepage (no matter what it is). Look for point 5 in our custom menus tutorial.
Thanks. I got that fixed. How do I get it so that the text on the home page is truly centered? The text is set to centered but it goes further to the right side of the box and actually touches the very edge of the box. I’ve tried using “increase indent” and it doesn’t change. The left side is perfect but the right side isn’t the same indent.
I’m creating portfolio pages with just a regular page, not the portfolio page, and I’m putting thumbnails of images on it that will link to main pages. I’m having trouble getting my images to line up nicely in the editor. Sometimes, they pop into place next to the last photo and other times, they go to the next row and leave a big blank space and since this isn’t drag/drop, how do I get them to line up? I’ve tried using the column creator and that is worse.
I’ve created a page that acts like a portfolio page, with thumbnail images of my art, and I want to then link each thumb to the specific page for that art, where I will have all the details. I can’t figure out how to do that. I tried setting the URL for the art page in the image file but that didn’t work. I’m not comfortable with creating codes, though I know how to insert codes into an html widget and I’ve been using iWeb for years where you just create a hyperlink from the thumbnail to the page so I’m completely lost as this is the first time I’ve attempted a WP site.
I figured it out.
Merci pour ce thème magnifique ! Je souhaiterais savoir comment supprimer un code enregistré par erreur dans la rubrique divers “votre css” de tempera settings. Où puis-je le trouver afin de le supprimer , merci d’avance pour votre réponse.
When you change anything through Tempera settings, menu background and the background of other sites disappear. Why?
I follow your C17 instruction, but my post are not seen in the post page I create. Please advice.
Which page would the blog page on your site be?
Thank you for your response. The blog page in my site is the page “News” under the English language and the page “Νεα” under the Greek language.
I want to erase links on cryout columns. How do I do that?
See this tutorial.
How can i chance the url link of a post, so when you click on the headline you’ll be redirected to another page?
It seems the option to chance is disabled.
Hi! The theme is great, I love it! I was wondering…would it be possible to increase the contrast between background and text of the slides in the presentation page? Thanks!
I assume you want to make the slider caption backgrounds less transparent (to make the text more readable):
.nivo-caption { background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9); }
Hi. I am having problems with the arrow graphics (font) in the drop down menu. Has anyone else had this problem? All was working fine until site went live.
I believe we have gotten to the bottom of this issue. For everyone else having the same issue, make sure the URL you are using to get to your WordPress and the URL configured in WordPress itself are on the same (sub)domain.
Why do I not see photos in the post preview on the presentation page, it only previews the text. I hope it is just a setting I am not seeing. Parabola seems to show them fine but tempera is not
Did you enable post excerpts? The featured images are only displayed when posts are displayed as excerpts.
Hallo… i use tempera themes. But when i created gallery images, the pictures didn’t have captions and they seemed mess up.. can you help me guys? thanx in advance
Hi,am a novice in website designing but i found tempera theme to be a great tool.its simply awesome.A friend tells me its too bulky to be hosted on an independent website. Please is it true.He claims it takes to much space. Please reply as soon as possible since i want my employees to use tempera but not to run up their operating cost.
HI!
I really like the Tempera Theme very much, but I need to have dropdown menus in the topmenu section.
Is there a possibility to have dropdown menus there as well?
I use it as the only menu bar so it would be great…
Thanks in advance.
The header and footer menus are not meant to display submenus.
Hello, I have 5 post on the home page, how can I center that? thanks
Hi,
I am creating new pages to link to the buttons on my front presentation page. I would like to remove the top menu bar from my pages but cannot seem to find a way to do that. I already disabled it in the Graphics Settings.
Really Great theme!
Hi! Great theme! I am wondering if is it possible to create a new page [not private but public] which will not be visible on the top bar menu? I want to create a page, not a post.
You might want to use a custom menu.
