yeah upgraded to Tempera 1.8.0 and edited the child theme as suggested and uploaded a jpg then a ico as custom logo and I still got the crappy wordpress logo in chrome and firefox header is set to clickable header image (per the client)

ok so I had to go into the god awful wordpress customizer (damn I hate that thing) and set the site icon voila favicon city baby

Same here as the Favicon disappeared, but I don’t have the skills to adjust this myself like Steve did. Can someone explain to me in a simple way how to adjust this?

Why did it disappear under Header Settings anyway, what is the reason for this?

Anneke simply open the customizer under appearence and go into site identity i believe its there id double check for you but Im on my phone at the moment. you can easily set this yourself once in the customizer
