When using wp-cli with php 8.0 I got the following warnings:

My question: is tempera prepared for using php 8.0 / 8.1?

@Saarfuchs,

We do not support or test Tempera (or any of our themes) with wp-cli. Global variables work differently there and addressing that would require rewriting large parts of the theme (which was created at a time when wp-cli did not exist).

@Violet,

We always do our active development on the current PHP version and I have not encountered any compatibility issues in Tempera (or any of our other classic themes) with either PHP 8.1 or the previous 8.0.
Are you observing any problems?

PHP 8.x gives this 3 lines errors :

Warning: Attempt to read property “post_author” on null in /home/XXX/wp-content/themes/tempera/functions.php on line 36

Had to get back to PHP 7.3.4

we have sadly the same problem after witching to php 8.1. There is no way back to php 7.x, therfore we have to find another theme.

@Draky, there are no lines 36 or 299 in Tempera’s functions.php file, so you must have edited it.

The Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type bool ... error will hopefully get fixed in a future theme update, making Tempera usable with WP CLI.
