I only want the slider to show up on the home page and only a right side bar on the home page. However, if I disable the built-in landing page, my slider disappears. If I enable the landing page, the slider shows, but my sidebar disappears. I need both to show up and for the slider to be centered (when it does show, it’s aligned left.).

Right now I have it so the slider shortcode is in the home page content and I turned off the titles.

The slider is normally part of the theme’s landing page feature. If the landing page is not used, the slider is also not visible. Additionally, the landing page does not feature sidebar functionality.

If you want to use a slider and not use the landing page, you can install a slider plugin to include a slider in the page used as the homepage.
