Greetings, Zed!
What additional CSS would be appropriate to override/substitute a descriptive word for the “hamburger menu” displayed for the mobile configuration? Like “Menu” or “Sections” for this site? I’m currently using Tempera.

Try the following CSS:

body #nav-toggle span::before {
    content: "\e820  MENU"; /* note that there are two spaces before the "MENU" word */
}

or simply

body #nav-toggle span::before {
    content: "MENU";
}
