Analytics have to be hand-coded

    Hello,
With recent theme updates, our analytics code doesn’t display when I use the header – custom javascript area to paste it in. We have NO analytics for one of our sites for a while. I’ve manually put it in the header.php and now it is showing.

I’ll have to remember to do that each time there is a theme update. Any ideas why it doesn’t show or track when I use the theme dashboard section?

There are plugins that help you add the tracking code in the site without editing files.

The theme’s field uses WordPress’ default sanitization functions, so depending on the code you use some or all of it may get filtered out.
