  • in reply to: How to enable header and sidebars after latest updates? #42180
    Zed
    Cryout Creations mastermind

The new Landing Page is a separate feature that has its own layout and content options (located in the same customizer-based options panel).

    1. The landing page comes with a sample static slider image, that can be replaced with a different static image, a full-fledged slider or disabled altogether. This image is not the header image.

    2. The landing page is designed for a specific presentation purpose and does not feature sidebars.

If you do not like the landing page, it can be disabled entirely from the theme’s options.

in reply to: Featured Image is displayed in full size #42179
    Zed
    Cryout Creations mastermind

Featured image size is a very problematic subject – the image needs to be loaded at a size that is suitable for all of the theme’s layout options: any content width with zero to two sidebars and simultaneously with posts displayed in any configuration from 1 to 3 per row.
Large images can be resized to fit in small area better than small images will look enlarged.

Plugins that add additional markup to the menu should be better handled with the 1.2.7 update.

The theme does not prevent the submenus going off-screen, so you’ll need to reorder your menu items to prevent this scenario for now.

    Zed
    Cryout Creations mastermind

The theme’s landing page comes with a separate slider placeholder image (that is not the header image).
This can be changed from the theme’s Landing Page options by setting a different static slider image.

Nirvana does not have a printing style, so content will be formatted with whatever the browser retains or understands out of the screen styling.

in reply to: Columns link to pages rather than posts #42174
    Zed
    Cryout Creations mastermind

If you’re using the widget columns, they can link to anything you wish.
If the columns are generated from posts then they will always link to the posts themselves. However, if you manually specify IDs from which to generate the columns, you can specify page IDs (instead of posts) and then the columns will link to those pages.

It is possible with custom styling.

in reply to: Featured Image doesn't show on pages #42168
    Zed
    Cryout Creations mastermind

    1. Pages don’t display featured image inside them. If you want images there, you can insert the images in the content itself. Featured images on pages will be used for sharing services and/or sitemaps.

The page’s featured image will only be used as a header image if the assigned image is wide enough to fill the header area. Check this if the set featured image is not used in the header of that page.

    2. Those are the headings, the options for which you’ll find under Text Settings.

Temporarily disable all your plugins and re-check if this continues to happen.

If it does, it may also be caused by hosting limitations (like extra security features or limitation of the number of variables the server processes at once) – in this case your hosting provider might be able to shed some light into the matter.

    What browser are you using?

With the appropriate theme option enabled (Featured Images as Header Images), the theme will display the assigned featured images in the header of the static pages.

If you don’t want your featured images in the header, disable that option.

I said you could use the presence (or absence) of those tags to check how the plugin/WordPress sanitizes the fields and get an idea where the problem is.

In-line scripts will not work without the opening and closing tags, so you not including them or the sanitization filtering them out ends in the same result.

What are the first two options under Post Excerpt Settings set to?

I see you use video posts. Post formats (image, video, audio, status, aside, so on) and sticky posts are always displayed in full, regardless of the theme’s excerpt options.

Your site is hidden behind a login, so I cannot browse it and investigate.

If you are using a caching plugin check if it has a CSS minification feature, in which case turn it off or exclude the theme’s styling files.

You can export the theme’s settings from the theme’s settings page (Appearance > Tempera Settings).

If you’re familiar with FTP you could also create a backup of the theme files (in case you’ve made any changes to these).

Your menu appears to have the home label contained in two separate <span> elements.

Are you using any menu-related plugin that could add this additional markup?

This really depends on the plugin and how it filters/sanitizes those fields. My guess is that if the plugin uses the usual WordPress sanitization functions, the opening and closing <script> tags get filtered out, making the code non-functional.

You can check if any of the code is outputted in the source of the site on the frontend.

Using hooks to replace code is more update-proof then modifying files directly.
    https://www.cryoutcreations.eu/forums/t/integrating-co-authors-plus-plugin-with-verbosa

Use this only as an example, Tempera and Verbosa do not share the same code so it requires adaptation.

in reply to: How to add datepicker link and script tag to head #41974
    Zed
    Cryout Creations mastermind

I’m sorry, but Tempera does not include a datepicker script (or anything similar). You’re likely using external resources.

The simplest solution would be to search for a plugin that provides such functionality (and bundles the necessary CSS/JS). If you really want to do this manually, you’ll need to create a child theme (or a plugin), place those files in it and write the necessary code to enqueue them.

If that plugin is causing some kind of JS error or loading a custom version of jQuery, the only solution is for the author to correct these.

The theme registers different image sized for the featured and slider images. If the files you are using are larger than both configured size (slider and featured) and are also the same aspect ratio between them, the generated slides should be of the same size.

Your submenu item labels are too long to fit in the width of the mobile screen (so they overflow).
You should try to rename them to an acceptable length.
