Text font selection changes in mobile

I’ve changed my Text font settings to use a Google font (“Alike”).  When browsing from Safari on my desktop, the font setting is retained.  When browsing from an Apple iPhone, the font setting is retained.  However, when browsing from an Android mobile device using Chrome, the font setting displayed is “Arial” except for certain sections of the page (for example, text that is within columns).

    Here’s an example page: http://www.1september2013.com/?page_id=47

This is the text that is not retained and displays as Arial when browsing on a Android mobile device in Chrome:

“Everyone is invited to an informal mini-Oregon tour on Saturday Aug 31st (the day before the big day)!

Please indicate on the RSVP whether or not you will be attending, so that we know how many people to expect. We have rented a trolly for the tour and will be providing water on board.  Please remember to bring money to buy your lunch at McMenamin’s Edgefield.”

However, the text below this in the 3 columns displays the correct “Alike” Google font setting.

    Any ideas?

Chrome is broken on my Android device, but the fonts in Mantra work just fine with the built-in browser (an unbranded trimmed down version of Chrome).

I see you’ve changed your site setting and no longer using a Google font, so I can’t test your website as well.

But as a general rule, make sure the piece of text in question is not copied from somewhere and has a <font….> tag along with it.
