My footer.php file is empty!

I broke it! I was adding a line of code to my footer.php file above the closing body tag for Amazon. I edited, I clicked save and then there seemed to be some kind of server error and now the footer.php file for my site is completely empty.
    Everything in there is missing!
There must have been some sort of corruption when saving.
At the moment the site looks OK, which is weird, but I’m sure it’s going to need at that stuff that was in there.
Any ideas how I can get it back?
I’m in a bit of a panic! I’m not an experienced user so this is way above what I know how to fix.
