Hi- So I am having issues with my header Media. It showed properly on a computer screen, (it did take some effort). But it doesn’t show clearly on mobile devices. I am not a web designer, have a bare understanding of pixel ratio, and general website design.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If you’re having issues on mobile Safari, that’s because this browser has problems interpreting fixed backgrounds sized as cover. We’ll add a workaround for this limitation in a future theme update. As an alternative you can switch the header image to cropped instead of contained.January 9th, 2018 at 00:08 #58079
I am having similar issues with my website – some header images do look ok (e.g. the one from the landing page), others don’t even though I cropped all of them.
Any ideas what else this could be?
Also, before I start playing around with solutions too much – when will the next update be released? Any chance it’s coming this month?

Seems like changing the “header image behaviour” from “cropped” to “responsive” did the trick for me…
You might want to try that as well lealea…January 12th, 2018 at 22:10 #58272
Tigerentle, Thanks for the idea. It worked, I had been playing with option trying to get the picture to work originally, and forgot to try it to solve the mobile issue. Works Great… or in addition as Zed said they solved it with a work around, because I just updated the design. Either way something worked!March 6th, 2018 at 20:45 #60559
I only have two “header image behaviour” options: “cropped” to “contained”, no “responsive” one (previous comment). On my website cropped image looks good on mobile devices and contained – on a computer screen. I have seen this solution on Kahuna Theme Demo. Is there a way to do it and how?

@elakos, we renamed the “responsive” option to “contained” in a recent update because it was causing confusion. Both modes are responsive, but are designed to behave differently.March 7th, 2018 at 17:40 #60642
Thanks for your reply, Zed. My question was is it possible to set “contained” images on computers and “cropped” images on mobile devices, the way it is in Kahuna demo?March 12th, 2018 at 11:35 #60812
I would really appreciate your answer to my last question. I put so much effort in my website and still working on it and this header issue is the main problem that everybody points out.

Our Kahuna demo has the header image behaviour always set to “cropped” (regardless of device). This option can only be set generally, not based on device.
