Change post layouts

I had really hoped that the Tempera update would address this issue but apparently not, and it is a really big problem for me. I need to be able to set the layout to show or hide sidebars on individual posts and pages, but no matter what I do it doesn’t work. If I use a visibility option (i.e. Jetpack or any other plugin) on the widgets it still shows the empty sidebar with the text “You have no content in this sidebar…if you want to change the layout go to the main settings page” on the post. Even the most basic WordPress themes have an option to use various t templates for posts and pages. I truly don’t understand why Cryout Creations hasn’t made this option available. If I can’t get this addressed I am going to have to change themes, which would be a shame because I REALLY like this one except for this enormous issue. Can someone help me or am I going to need to find something else?

I don’t know if this is what you mean, but I use the Customs Sidebars plugin to create individual sidebars for posts (that could be assigned to multiple posts) and could be left blank – although it would leave a space on your page, rather than widening any widths…
