Cryout Creations mastermindThese are not problems since they are design choices.

Cryout Creations mastermindParabola allowed us to try out new stuff without breaking things for existing users. In time we’ll migrate most of the featured added by Parabola in Mantra as well.
That would be a good idea, but WordPress doesn’t currently have a way of separately identifying menu items that have submenus for us to use in styling.

Cryout Creations mastermindHow do you want to separate them? I see they’re already separated and in two columns.
And you’re also using Mantra, not Parabola…

Cryout Creations mastermindYou’ll need some CSS tweaks to achieve that and I don’t see either the HTML module or a newsletter module on your site.

Cryout Creations mastermindActivate the “Featured Images as HEADER Images” option under Appearance > Mantra Settings > Featured Image Settings then set a featured image for each page that you want to have a separate header image.
Make sure the featured images are the correct size (same size as the one you currently have in the header).

Cryout Creations mastermindAdding content for the appropriate areas (slider/columns images/titles/texts) of the presentation page “template” would be a real hassle.
What solution would you see for doing this?

Cryout Creations mastermindThe first request will probably never happen as it is a very particular usage case.
For the second request, consider trying out Parabola.

Cryout Creations mastermind1. For the logo image, if your logo is already in the media gallery, find its URL and try to copy/paste it into the logo URL field.
2. All widgets have particular classes/ids which can be used with CSS for cutomizations.
3.

Or use custom css to affect only the excerpts:
#entry-summary, #entry-summary p { font-size: 12px; }

Could you re-create the issue so I can have a look at it?

Cryout Creations mastermind1. is a tag required for compatibility with older Internet Explorer versions; will be removed once IE8 is completely phased out and no longer used.
2. I remember that was supposed to be fixed; we’ll have a look at it.
3. will eventually be fixed
4. this is not caused by the theme, as it looks to be from the menu or a (category?) widget
5. until WordPress allows better control on the order of en-queueing styles, we have no way to correct this;

Cryout Creations mastermindYes, it’s a bug. Thanks for pointing that out 🙂
We’ll get it fixed in the next update.

Cryout Creations mastermindThe header image does get a bit squashed. That’s expected behaviour since the header needs to keep a particular minimum height to fit its content (like site title or logo) and an image cannot remain a particular height and shrink in width and keep its aspect ratio at the same time.
If you’re using a header image with text, perhaps you should move your text in a logo image, as that one is resized while maintaining its aspect ratio.

At first I misunderstood you cannot disable the “footer” placement. Now I see the “header” socials cannot be disabled. We’ll fix that 🙂

Cryout Creations mastermindOkay, so that clarifies the oddness (since both themes use 95% the same code).
While that plugin is no longer maintained, I doubts its the culprit, as the slider works fine in my tests with the plugin installed.
Plus, I see your website is loading a jQuery copy from code.google.com, while my WordPress with Parabola and the Timeshow plugin load the local copy of jQuery.
Check your other plugins as well…

Cryout Creations mastermindDid you add widgets to the right sidebar as well?
Unlike Mantra (if you’ve previously used it), in Parabola the right sidebar is always the right sidebar, and left sidebar is always left. When using only one sidebar layouts, the widgets don’t get moved over.
The header should become transparent by simply leaving the background colour field empty (this trick works even in Mantra on all background colours). There’s no need to edit files for this.

Cryout Creations mastermindThat’s odd.
I’ll have to do a bit of testing with that plugin to figure it out…
