So i have set this smart quote as my header text (above the image, not using slider option), but now it as displayed as site’s identity. Is there a way to separate the two? I want my header the way it is, but with proper site identity

The site title/tagline and banner caption are two separately configurable regions (although the homepage banner caption copies the title/tagline text on theme activation for demonstrative purposes).
The banner caption is configurable from the theme’s dedicated landing page > slider options:

It would be excellent to be able to have control over the main title and logo title and their individual texts separately.I believe we may be discussing about different configuration modes.
The configurable caption title/text is applicable to the theme’s landing page feature as the homepage:
While the landing page is not activated, the theme will use the site title and tagline as the header title area for the homepage, for example with a (static) page:
or the default posts list:
