HI, I’ve edited the footer text with no problems, however I am having an issue with creating a email link using this format:

<a href="mailto:abc@example.com">Send Email</a>

It would appear that either the template or wordpress is stripping the href= “mailto:abc@example.com” out of the field, leaving just <a>Send Email</a>

Why is this happening? Any ideas how to fix it?

I cannot reproduce this issue. The email link works correctly when I enter it in the theme’s Custom Footer Text.
