How do you want that widget to appear? In what ways are you trying to customize it?

I see that alternative menu uses images to create the menu items, so there’s not much that can be controlled there. There are some margins that could be removed to make the menu closes to the footer, but since the widget is in the after content widget area, it shares the same background color as the content.
