At the bottom of the page, there’s a white box with the text:

I can’t seem to get rid of this box and text.

I had previously tried Kahuna and Tempera – I think I added that line in Tempera. I could switch back to Tempera, delete the line, and then return to Parabola, but will this leave all my Parabola settings intact?

That text is coming from custom footer content, not the theme itself. Check Customizer → Footer → Copyright (or Additional CSS / Custom JS) and remove it there.

Switching back to Tempera just to delete it isn’t recommended—you may lose Parabola-specific settings. It’s safer to remove the footer text directly in Parabola’s Customizer options.
