Format header image

I have added a header image using the suggested 1200×150 format but want the header image to be as wide as my page and also to cover the top menu area. If you view the site (it is in Dutch by the way) then you will see a grey area above the header image and white area on each side of the image. play around with different settings has not helped me find a solution.

    Would appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks

In my website I have included a widget on the right which shows ALL blog categories. I would like to exclude one category “NIEUWS” (is Dutch for News) from being displayed in the list. Can somebody tell me if this is possible and if so what I need to do to achieve the required result?

I am currently not working with a child theme.

    Thanks for your tips

    1) The header image is inside the header area (does not cover the top menu / top bar and does not extend left/right beyond the content limits). To simulate a full width/height header image, you can use the site background image.

    2) The built-in widget displays all categories. You need to search for a plugin which provides a widget that lets you pick which columns to display.
These widgets are WordPress core functionality and are not controlled by the theme.
