Mantra 1.9.3

The latest Mantra version brings a Custom JavaScript area for your custom JS and Analytics codes. It also adds some basic SEO. The SEO options are in the Misc settings of the Mantra Settings page (for now) so you can go and check them out.

We also moved a lot of code around, improved security quite a bit and improved HTML5 validation (things that will also happen in 1.9.4 and a few other future versions). And when you move code around… bugs are bound to rear their ugly heads. Here are two of those heads:

The media WP uploader doesn’t work anymore. This was a really weird one. It’s complicated to explain how this happened but the fix will come with version 1.9.4 that should become available any day now.

And a very small percentage of users reported the front page slider not working. From what we saw on the pages they showed us, the JS for the slider is not loaded into the page. We are still investigating this one…

We’d like to thank everyone for the feedback.

Mantra is a clean, highly customizable and totally free WordPress theme. For more info check out the theme's page.

  1. Same issue with adding pictures to posts. Just blank page. Looks like it is time to switch themes, since can’t go weeks without a new post, and I see nothing here about fixing it.

  2. Hi,
Is there a plug-in to use local avatars that you know is compatible with your theme?
I am trying to use local avatars, but all the plugins I tried still show the default avatar for “when no customizations are selected”.
It could be that the plugin for social login messed up with it, but I am at a loss. Is the theme displaying/handling local avatars, or is there a setting I did not find relating to them?

    1. It turns out that after customizing the avatars, only new comments will show the avatars.
IN the case of comments from La Marquise on the “submission page” of my site, or the “FAQ” (http://contrepeter.ie/index.php/faq/), he old comments do not pick up the new avatar.
Also, only comments made with her account logged in will show the new local avatar. If she is just using the comment form with name and email, it will not, which is only fair enough as her name and email are not proof that she is the same person who created the account (she is not logged in when using only name/email).

  3. The Mantra settings are stuck on the two column setting and won’t let me change it. All stuck on the content/slider size: won’t adjust. It keeps coming up the same size (too small) every time I adjust and save. I guess I’ll delete everything and start over. 🙁

  4. same thing here … I have upgraded to WP 3.4.1 and Mantra 1.9.3 and I can upload media, but I cannot insert it into a page.

To troubleshoot, I deactivated all plugins and switched to the basic 2010 theme. I could then insert photos into pages and posts. I left the plugins deactivated and re-activated just mantra, and the problem with inserting media came back. So, I basically had to change my theme in order to insert media.

I am using FireFox, although since switching themes worked, I don’t think it’s a browser issue.

    Thanks!

  5. Hi
I upgraded to 1.9.3 and am having a problem. I cant add images to a post !! The media box just freezes when I click on “Insert into post”. When I changed my theme, images were added easily. Need an urgent update to this !!

  6. Thank you for this information!!! I am one of the people suffering from the presentation page issue. I’ve seen several posts through google, so I think it’s affecting more people than you think. This has been terrible for me. I have paid advertisements driving traffic to my website and it looks terrible. Is there anyway to return to a previous version of Mantra until you resolve the issues? If I could just do that, it would be great. Please, please, please help!!!!!!!

    Regards,
    Jo
