Bold type in Widget area

    I’d like to make the titles of the sidebar widgets Bold. How can I do this?

    #primary h3.widget-title, #secondary h3.widget-title { font-weight: bold; }

    Tried inserting the CSS code above but had no effect. The titles and the text in the Footer Widget are a bit difficult to read. Can’t seem to change font size either.Any suggestions ?

    The CSS provided above is for the sidebars, not the footer.
    For the footer use
    #footer-widget-area .widget-title { font-weight: bold; }
