Licensing

Is the theme released under GPL license?

TE PA NI MA

YES! The free theme is released under GPL v3 licence. And all the images and code that it contains are under GPL v3 as well.

What does this mean? Basically it means that you can modify is, use is in and with other software, make copies of is, distribute it – all as long as you don't claim the theme as your own and keep the original copyright intact. More on the GPL here.

TE PA NI MA

We prefer that you don't. It's the only thing we ask in return for all our hard work over our FREE theme.

If you're creating a commercial site that is making a profit and/or for a client, we can provide the means to remove our credit link (and even replace it with your own) as part of our priority support service.

We won't provide any kind of support if our credit link is removed outside of our services or without our approval.

Compatibility

What browsers does the theme work on?

TE PA NI MA

The theme will work as designed on all major modern browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, Internet Explorer 10+ and Edge.

While the theme will mostly work on older browser versions, some features might not be available.

Is the theme responsive?

TE PA NI MA

The theme is fully responsive and is adjusts its appearance and layout based on the screen size of the device it is viewed on, when its responsiveness option is enabled in the settings.

What version(s) of WordPress is the theme compatible with?

TE PA NI MA

The theme requires at least WordPress 4.2 to function as designed, but we recommend always updating the latest available WordPress release to keep your site as stable and secure as possible.

What version(s) of PHP is the theme compatible with?

TE PA NI MA

The theme currently requires at least PHP 5.3 to work. As always, we recommend using a hosting provider that uses the latest PHP release branch for improved security and efficiency.

Is the theme compatible with WooCommerce?

TE PA NI MA

The theme generally supports WooCommerce. The plugin's sections will use the configured layout (sidebar placement) by default. You can override the behaviour of individual pages (Checkout, Cart, Account) by assigning a different layout to them.

Is the theme compatible with multilanguage plugins?

TE PA NI MA

We've tested the theme and expect it to work with qTranslate X, Polylang and WPML and WP Globus.

For specific theme options which define texts, qTranslate X's short tags feature, Polylang's / WPML's Strings features can be used to configure multilanguage translations.

Updates

Are my hard-worked settings kept during an update?

TE PA NI MA

Theme settings (set through the theme's settings page) are kept over updates. File modifications (changes to style.css, to theme files or new files) in the theme folder are lost on every update (this is default WordPress behaviour).

Consider using WordPress' Additional CSS field, a custom CSS/JS plugin or creating a child themes to apply extra customizations.

We strongly recommend creating periodic full site (files & database) backups.

The theme also includes built-in functionality to export and import theme settings.

I just updated and all my customizations are gone. How do I get them back?

TE PA NI MA

If you've lost customization performed by modifying theme files, then you'll need to search through the backups. Any changes done directly on the theme files (style.css, js files or php files) are lost after an update. This is default WordPress behaviour and cannot be changed.

Theme options set through the customize interface are kept over updates.

The only way to get your customized files back is to grab them out of a backup. If you do not have a backup, then you're out of luck. Sorry!
