Featured Image Settings

Featured Images as Post Thumbnails

TE PA NI MA

Controls the theme's ability to use featured images as post thumbnails in posts lists. The image needs to be defined as the posts' featured image in the edit screen.

Link the thumbnail to the post

TE PA NI MA

The theme can link the post thumbnail to the single post. Disable if you're using plugins which override the thumbnails behaviour and are observing markup issues.

Auto Select Images from Posts

TE PA NI MA

Controls whether or not the theme should use images from inside posts as featured images (when no featured image is set).

Tip

This functionality depends on the content images actually being associated with the post/page itself. This happens when the image is uploaded while editing the post/page and no association happens if the image is uploaded directly to the library (or can be incorrect if the image was uploaded while editing a different post or page than the one it is currently displayed in).

Thumbnails Alignment

TE PA NI MA

Controls the position of the post thumbnail in post lists (relative to the post excerpt):

  • left
  • center
  • right

Thumbnail Size

TE PA NI MA

Controls the width and height of the post thumbnails (in pixels). Featured images are resized/cropped to this size.

Important

It is necessary to regenerate thumbnails for existing library images after changing these values.

Crop images to exact size

When enabled, images are resized and cropped to the exact values. When disabled, images are resized to fit this size but maintaining their original aspect ratio.

TE PA NI MA

Controls whether or not to use the post's or page's featured image as header image. Applies to single posts and static pages views and only occurs when a general header image is set (which the featured image will replace).

The featured image is used in the header only if it is large enough (equal to or bigger than the current header image size).
