    Hi there,

    I love the Tempera theme!

However, when copying my URL into emails, a link preview comes up containing information that doesn’t relate to my website, specifically the phrase ‘Helping people succeed is our business’. I want the link preview to continue showing, but with correct information and this phrase does not reflect the website in any way. It is not mentioned anywhere on the website, nor in any meta data I can find. As the website’s developer, I didn’t put it in there.

Could it be in any theme files as a default setting of some kind? Please advise!

    Thank you!

I cannot find that particular string on your site and in the embedding data.

    Is that still happening?

    Hi Zed,

Thanks so much for taking a look. Yes, it’s still happening. I’ve turned off every plugin/theme except Tempera and its Cryout Serious plugin, and the tagline still appears. If you have access to an outlook/hotmail account and copy/paste the URL into a blank email then click return, you’ll see the tagline appears in the link preview. Very strange!

I do not use Hotmail, but Hotmail might have cached a previous embed request.
Try with a slightly different URL (appending something like ?test should be sufficient).

Thanks for the idea Zed, but the issue also appears in Facebook and Twitter, so it’s not a Hotmail thing. It’s somewhere, something else!

As that particular string does not appear in the source of the site (homepage), I cannot tell you what’s making it show up in third party sites.

Check that the URL you’ve indicated here is exactly the same one you’re sharing.

    Thanks Zed, yes, it’s: http://zfkingbolt.com/

So far I’ve asked all of the following and they all say it’s nothing to do with them:

    wordpress
    jetpack
    hotmail
    google
    my host provider

Oh dear! Thanks anyway for looking :0)
