Menu Won't Disappear

I’m using the newest Verbosa theme. I’ve created my site to have all the content needed on the left sidebar and I DON’T want a menu present at all. I do have some pages that are accessible through links, but again I don’t want any menu option – just the sidebar widgets. I’ve created one menu for social media icons and that’s perfectly positioned, but that’s the only menu I’ve created.

It seems there’s a default menu I can’t get rid of. In the “Customize” area, I was able to choose to hide “menu bullets” in the Header section. In the Customize preview, this shows the menu as disappearing, but when I return to my page, the menu is still there.

    Help! And thank you.

When no menu is defined, the theme displays an automatically generated menu containing your static pages. If you wish to disable the main navigation area, create an empty custom menu and assign it to the menu location.
